From current owner:
This is Zoey — a 4-year-old, 50-pound German Shepherd who has been my whole world since I adopted her as a rescue at around 11 months old. This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but she deserves a stable home, space, and the right environment, and right now I can’t give her the life she truly deserves.
Zoey is an incredible dog with people. She’s gentle, social, playful, and especially sweet with kids — she naturally bows and softens around them. She loves being part of whatever you’re doing, and she bonds deeply with her person. She’s affectionate, smart, and always ready for her next adventure.
✨ Personality & Temperament
• Sweet, social, and great with adults and children
• Very playful — loves fetch and will outrun you every time
• Calm in the home but still has that fun, puppy-like energy
• Loves car rides, sticking her head out the window, and being outside
• Obsessed with snow and playing with her ball
• Has some anxiety, mostly attachment-based, but settles once she trusts you
🎓 Training & Skills
Zoey is fully trained:
• Knows all basics: sit, stay, lay down, come
• Fun tricks: rollover, spin, and more
• Crate trained and fully housebroken
• Completed obedience training
• Great in the car
• Currently working on off-leash skills
🐕 Important Needs
Zoey needs to be the only pet in the home.
She has reactivity toward other dogs, and while she doesn’t seek out conflict, she becomes overwhelmed in close-contact situations with other animals. For her safety and others, she must go to a one-dog household with someone who understands boundaries and structure.
She also needs:
• A fenced-in yard (non-negotiable)
• An adopter who is patient, experienced, and willing to continue her training
• Someone who enjoys being active — she LOVES to run and play fetch
🏥 Health
• Spayed
• Healthy
• Fully up-to-date on all vaccinations, preventatives, and vet care
• No known health issues
• Eats well and has been kept on a consistent, structured routine
🎁 What She Comes With
To help her transition smoothly, Zoey will go home with:
• All her favorite toys
• Her crate
• Her ball (her absolute favorite)
• Her leash/collar set
• Any remaining food + supplies
• Training and routine notes
❤️ Why I’m Rehoming
I’ve had Zoey since I was 17. She’s the dog that taught me responsibility and helped me grow up. This isn’t choice — it’s necessity. Due to her dog reactivity, housing has become extremely difficult, and I’m at a point where I can’t provide the stable, calm home she deserves. I love her more than anything, which is exactly why I’m doing this: she needs a home where she can thrive.
🔍 Ideal Home
• No other pets
• Fenced yard
• Someone active who loves playing fetch or going for walks
• Someone patient and experienced with shepherds or working breeds
• A family or adult home where she can receive consistent structure, love, and time
Zoey will give you her whole heart. She’s loyal, goofy, loving, and an amazing companion. She just needs the right environment to flourish.
