The sound of flowing waters calms me like nothing else. It quiets my mind, and with the rhythm of a fly rod and keeping time of my cast, my mind can know little else, just peace.

Sharing that with a brother, makes it all the better.

The waters were calming this weekend, and the fish made it easy… Jackson River Red Eyes, Appalachian Wild Rainbows and Native Brookies.

I sometimes have a stationary prospective of the “House on the rock” scripture. Mathew 7:24-27.

Not hard to see why, houses dont move (typically).

Thing is, that rock is under you no matter where you go or where you are, when you walk with Christ. That foundation supports every aspect of your life.

So a ‘step of faith’ isnt without support. It is a step upon granite, supported in every way, and with a promise that any move in faith you make, will never come back void.

I have peace in my heart and good will towards men because I know Jesus Christ.

I live in peace daily and in a society that upholds good... because of the sacrifice of those in uniform.

Soak in the joy and peace this holiday can bring and be thankful for the savior that provided it, but also be thankful for those that continue the sentiment daily with their own sacrifices.
