This second video features Pam Guthman, a Chippewa County member, as she shares perspectives on rural health disparities, the prohibitive cost of health insurance, rural hospital closures, and the repercussions of Medicare and SNAP cuts for rural Wisconsin.

As issues surrounding agriculture consolidation and monopoly powers continue to surface, we’re launching a public education campaign around this topic. Over the next eight weeks, we’ll share videos, resources, and other information on this subject, which was voted in as a 2026 Special Order of Business by our members.

To kick off the campaign, we’re sharing our Get Loud video, which is an evergreen illustration of the systematic changes that need to happen in order to address consolidation and antitrust issues that impact not only farmers, but consumers, too. Check it out at the link below! ⬇

We love a chapter meeting that involves important discussions on healthcare for our rural communities. It's even better when it includes ice cream and petting goats! 🍦🐐

The Dodge-Fond du Lac-Sheboygan-Ozaukee chapter recently gathered at LaClare Creamery to learn about the services that Covering Wisconsin - CWI offers, helping community members get connected with health insurance.

We also got to hear from Clara Hedrich, co-founder of the creamery, about their family's farming story (it all started with two goats they inherited at their homestead!).

We ended the afternoon with a self-guided tour of the farm. Thanks to all who came out!

We recently partnered with Resource Rural in producing a video about one of our Vernon-Crawford Farmers Union leaders, Melissa, and the chapter's Double Up Bucks program.

And, read more about the chapter's initiative and Melissa's story on our blog: https://www.wisconsinfarmersunion.com/post/wi-snap-funds

The Vernon-Crawford Chapter of WFU has an exciting goal of raising $10,500 with other businesses and local community members to fund the Double Up Food Bucks matching program.

Interested in learning more about WFU's policy process? 💡📝 🎤

As we get closer to our yearly Convention in December, policy conversations will be happening at chapters' annual meetings and in committees. During this webinar on Thursday, we'll go over how to write policy resolutions, when and how to submit them, different review steps, how chapters share input, and what happens at Convention.

Register at www.wisconsinfarmersunion.com/events to join us live for this discussion or receive a follow-up recording of the webinar.
