Our 1st year has been small, quiet, & full of learning. Some things we tried didn’t work, & the climate around us has often been difficult. But even in all of that, we’ve found real things in which to be thankful.

We’re grateful for the friends & partners who walked with us, for the small steps we took, inspiration from friendships and peacemakers, & for the moments of welcome & curiosity that reminded us why this work matters.

We still believe peace grows in ordinary places. We still believe opening our homes to people who are different from us—without advantage, without sameness—can become normal. We still believe that loving neighbors & perceived enemies as a lifestyle is a deeply human way of living that Jesus fully embodied.

This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for what has begun, even while it’s still small… & we’re hopeful for what year two might bring us all.

May your tables today—& in the years ahead—hold this imagination with us.
