Say what you want to say, this is just officers on a power trip. Never asked for him to give over his ID. Just continually asked if he had one and if he had weapons. Perhaps the officer had been consuming alcohol because he seemed disoriented.

Register for training!

The primary criteria for recruiting these parent leaders will be their passion, desire, and enthusiasm for making positive changes in their family and community. There are no age restrictions and all community residents who consider themselves parents are eligible for training, including teen parents, grandparents, foster parents, and non-custodial fathers.

he 1970s marked a profound era of transformation and resistance, a time when women were at the absolute forefront of the movement for liberation. The women pictured here, Kathleen Cleaver, Angela Davis, Elaine Brown, and Assata Shakur, were not just symbols of the era. They were fierce organizers, intellectuals, writers, and leaders who challenged the status quo on every level.
They brought a sharp and necessary focus to the intersections of race, gender, and economic justice. Whether it was Kathleen Cleaver's work in communication and strategy for the Black Panther Party, Angela Davis’s relentless advocacy for political prisoners and prison abolition, Elaine Brown’s leadership as the first woman to head the Black Panther Party, or Assata Shakur’s enduring legacy as a symbol of the fight for self-determination, these women reshaped how we understand activism. Their presence was a statement in itself, reclaiming beauty, power, and authority during a time that sought to diminish all three. Their contributions remain a foundational part of our history and continue to inspire generations of organizers today.
