On September 19, five local founders will pitch live for a $25,000 non-dilutive prize at the South Side Small Business Resource Fair at the South Chicago SALUD Center. It was a successful Back to School Health and Wellness Resource Fair!

Thank you to our community partners, and families who joined us, the South Chicago Neighborhood Network- SCNN, and Communities Partnering 4 Peace, for a fun-filled day of community connection and back-to-school preparation. Attendees received valuable resources, health information, bookbags and school supplies to help students get ready for the new school year. The fair also featured music, food, a petting zoo, and other family-friendly entertainment, creating a welcoming and engaging experience for residents of all ages.

We're excited to celebrate Week 3 of Hoopz in the Hood, a program hosted by Claretian Associates in partnership with LISC Chicago and State Farm. Over the past several weeks, our youth participants have continued to show dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm both on and off the court.

Through twice-weekly basketball clinics, youth ages 11–17 are strengthening their basketball fundamentals, staying active, building confidence, and developing positive relationships with teammates.

UNITY Squad is making the most of their summer! Over the past three weeks, youth have built leadership and public speaking skills, created vision boards, and strengthened teamwork through engaging activities.

A program highlight was the youth-led Gun Violence Awareness Panel, where participants demonstrated leadership and a commitment to positive community change.

Students also enjoyed educational field trips to the Chicago History Museum and Chicago Botanic Garden, exploring history, culture, and nature along the way.
We're proud of their growth and excited for what's ahead!
