A new chapter for the Kehr Education Fund.

Jerry Kehr coached basketball. Yvonne Kehr taught 3rd grade. Both spent their lives investing in Plumas County youth.

Now, the fund that bears their name is making a bold shift — from general education to youth sports, the arts, and music. 🌟

Why? Because TAF's new CTE Initiative is taking the lead on workforce and vocational education — freeing the Kehr Fund to focus on something just as vital: giving every kid in our rural community access to the programs that spark joy, build confidence, and create belonging.

Join us August 7–9, 2026 for the Lake Almanor Grebe Festival at Plumas Pines Resort, featuring guided grebe‑watching, family activities, and insights into grebe behavior, nesting, and lake health.

Your support helps advance the pilot program of artificial nesting platforms, protecting grebe eggs and chicks as water levels change.

This Memorial Day Weekend, We Remember and We Honor

On Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and love of country will never be forgotten.

Inspired by the poem “In Flanders Fields,” the bright red poppy has become a symbol of sacrifice, honoring those who gave their lives for our freedom.

As you gather with family and friends this weekend, we ask you to:

We’ve built a platform that gives donors complete agency in how they support career and technical education for Plumas County students.

You can now choose between two giving pathways:
✔️ Support All Schools Countywide
The CTE Innovation & Support Fund strengthens programs across both Charter and Public schools—equipment, certifications, teacher training, and more.
✔️ Support a Specific School or Pathway
Plumas County Charter Schools (Learning Centers + Indian Valley Academy) now have dedicated funds with TAF.

Plumas Unified is exploring participation; until then, donors can support PUSD programs through the Countywide Fund.

🎨 Plumas Arts – Inspiring Creativity, One Student at a Time

Artists in the Schools is a charitable fund of The Almanor Foundation.

Art is more than paint on a canvas -- it builds confidence, sparks curiosity, and brings our community together -- and occasionally adds a bit of glitter to everything.

The heart of the program is Artist in the Schools (AIS), bringing professional teaching artists into classrooms—offering hands-on learning in music, visual arts, dance, theatre, and more.

✨ Why it matters:
• Every student deserves access to the arts
• Creativity builds confidence and critical thinking
• Real artists create real inspiration

AIS has already reached 600+ students, and with your help, we can grow to serve 1,000+ students across Plumas County schools. Donations are made through The Almanor Foundation and support Plumas Arts’ Artist in the Schools program.

The League of Women Voters is hosting a series of nonpartisan candidate forums ahead of the June primary election. Three more opportunities are coming up:
