SERGEANT WAYNE O'CONNELL

The West Pikeland community proudly celebrates a significant professional milestone as Sgt. Wayne O’Connell graduated February 15, 2026 from the prestigious School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC) at Northwestern University.

The SPSC is widely regarded as the most academically rigorous program available for experienced mid- and upper-level law enforcement supervisors. Through an innovative blend of academic theory and real-world application, the program focuses on areas critical to effective senior law enforcement leadership and management. The curriculum is intentionally designed to combine lectures with practical exercises and collaborative learning, allowing participants to apply academic principles while drawing upon the professional experiences of their peers.

This intensive program equips leaders with the tools necessary to navigate the evolving challenges of modern law enforcement while maintaining the highest professional standards. Sgt. O’Connell’s achievement demonstrates his commitment to growth, accountability, and forward-thinking leadership.

In short, the newly hired Police Chief for West Pikeland was recently demoted and is currently involved in a s*x discrimination lawsuit.
Did the Board of Supervisors know about this?

Former Chester County detective Christine Bleiler was a "go-to" consultant on the show, shaping Kate Winslet's titular character.

West Pikeland is looking for a new Township Manager. This job posting has not been posted on the township website or mentioned on recent agendas or meeting minutes.
It would be nice for township residents to have input, or at least be made aware of the upcoming changes.

Despite many township residents showing up on Tuesday voicing their opposition to the “Burn Ordinance”, the West Pikeland Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 approving the ordinance.
Residents brought facts obtained from Right to Know requests, however these were dismissed.
West Pikeland Police received approximately 10 calls since 2020 in reference to Burning/Brush fires. The board stated they have lots of support for the ordinance, it just wasn’t logged.
Accusations were made that one of the Supervisors drafted this ordinance specifically to target a neighbor, it was suggested he not vote on it. This too was dismissed.

The “Burn Ban” is up for Supervisor approval on Tuesday 1/20/26 (Monday is closed for MLK Jr Day).
This ban is being proposed based off of 12 calls to the Police over 5 years (data from a Right to Know request)
Please attend to have your voice heard. If you cannot attend, send an email to the Supervisors and Manager.

**Election results are not final yet**
Due to the County wide voter roll error, approximately 12100 third party registered voters had to vote via Provisional Ballots. The process is manual, and will take days if not weeks to complete.
West Pikeland had over 150 provisional ballots alone.
The counting process starts tomorrow and is open to the public: chesco.org/elections
