Toothy Tuesday? Is that a thing? If so, we have the perfect boy to kick it off!

Meet Max

At just 6.5 lbs and 8 years young, this adorable Yorkie proves that the best things really do come in small, scruffy packages. Max was surrendered to ACCT Philly when his family no longer wanted him, but thankfully, we were able to quickly bring him into rescue and he hasn’t missed a beat since.

His former family described him as friendly, great with kids, playful, and a big fan of belly rubs. We’re happy to report that all of that (and more!) has proven true. Max is pure joy. He’s social, happy, and eager to make friends wherever he goes. Whether he’s bouncing around with surprising energy for his age or soaking up attention like the little prince he is, Max brings smiles everywhere he lands.

He’s also crate trained, making him an easy addition to a home, and his affectionate, easygoing nature makes him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, fun little buddy.

Max is proof that second chances can be beautiful and he’s ready to spend his next chapter being adored the way he deserves

He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. He is also scheduled to get a dental evaluation and will receive the dental as the vet deems necessary.

Should we close out today with another amazing shepherd? He was a recent pull from . Despite being full on space, we just couldn't leave him behind because we were 100% smitten with him the moment we saw him.

Meet Havoc

Don’t let the name fool you — Havoc is anything but chaos. At 2 years old and around 80 lbs, this German Shepherd is a big, beautiful, head-turning boy with a personality to match. Found as a stray and brought to ACCT Philly, Havoc waited patiently for a family who never came. We truly can’t believe no one came looking for him because he is pretty amazing.

Havoc is the kind of dog who wins people over instantly. He’s happy, sweet, and incredibly people-friendly, always eager to spend time with volunteers and soak up attention. Despite his large size (and yes — he is tall with a giant, stunning shepherd head!), he’s an easygoing companion who handles himself well.

He walks nicely on leash, is social and friendly, and has an overall relaxed, approachable demeanor. He’s the perfect mix of impressive and gentle - the kind of dog who looks like a showstopper but acts like your easygoing best friend.

Havoc is ready for a home that will appreciate both his striking looks and his kind heart. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving shepherd who will turn heads everywhere you go, Havoc just might be your guy.

Meet Abby

At 11 years young and around 50 lbs, Abby is a stunning Golden Retriever with a rich, rust-colored coat and a heart just as beautiful.

Abby spent much of her life with a Lancaster breeder, and after being sold at 7 years old to another breeder and producing one litter before she was no longer able to get pregnant, she was finally released to us. Now, she’s finally out of that world and getting the chance she deserves- a life filled with love, comfort, and kindness.

Despite her past, Abby is everything you’d hope for in a golden girl - sweet, gentle, and happy. She has a calm, loving presence and clearly enjoys being around people, soaking up attention and affection.
Abby previously lived with another dog, though the breeder shared she may not do well with others. Since coming into our care, we haven’t seen any concerning behavior, but she will need proper meet-and-greets with any resident dogs to ensure the right fit.

She’s now ready for the next chapter - one where she can finally relax, be cherished, and enjoy her golden years the way they were always meant to be.

Meet Baby

At 5½ years old and 20 lbs, Baby is a sweet Cockapoo who has been through far more change than any dog deserves but through it all, she’s remained the same loving, friendly girl.

Baby was recently surrendered to ACCT Philly when her family was moving and chose not to take her along. Heartbreakingly, this wasn’t her first time starting over - she had previously been adopted twice. The first time, she was returned because the resident dog was not kind to her, and the second time, due to yet another family move. After so much instability, we knew she needed a fresh start, and we quickly welcomed her into our care.

Despite everything, Baby is exactly that, a total baby in the best way. Her previous family describes her as active, high-energy, and friendly, and she has lived successfully with both adults and children as young as 4 years old. She walks nicely on leash, enjoys getting out for her daily strolls, and has a soft spot for snacking on apples.

Baby is a sweet, affectionate girl who truly just wants a place to belong. After so many transitions, she deserves a stable, loving home where she can finally settle in for good and be someone’s forever dog.

If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion who will be endlessly grateful for a second (or third) chance, Baby is ready to meet you

Meet Lacey

At 7 years old and about 80 lbs, Lacey is a German Shepherd / Belgian Shepherd mix who is finally experiencing safety for the first time in her life.

After many long, difficult years in a breeding situation in Lancaster, Lacey has been released and is now with us. While we are so grateful she’s finally safe, it’s clear she’s still carrying the weight of everything she’s been through.

Lacey is a scared girl right now. When people approach, she will quietly walk away, staying low to the ground, unsure of what to expect. But beneath that fear is a truly gentle, sweet soul who just hasn’t yet learned that the world can be kind. Every small step forward for Lacey is a big victory - a moment of curiosity, a pause instead of retreat, a soft glance in your direction. She will need time, patience, and understanding to continue building trust at her own pace.

Lacey is looking for a patient, loving home, one that will meet her exactly where she is and allow her to slowly adjust to this new chapter of her life. With consistency, compassion, and time, we know she has the potential to blossom into the dog she was always meant to be.

After so many years of hardship, Lacey deserves nothing less than a life filled with safety, gentleness, and love.

Check out these cuties who were adopted last week!

A few facts about some of these pups:
-Skadi - our longest term resident was adopted after 1,000+ days
-Buck - lived in a tiny shed with no human interaction for 4 years
-Bentley - resided as a boarder at a pet store for a year
-Gator & Target - found as strays and no one ever came looking for them

And now their new chapters have begun, thanks to you!! 💕

How can this be?!?!

Joey and Kovu arrived to us with a whole litter of siblings at just 9 weeks old.

Their siblings all got adopted right away and now these two boys are celebrating their 1st birthday today at the kennel.

These pups are quite literally growing up in a kennel and they are both so amazing and we just cant understand why they keep getting overlooked.

Although, we highly suspect that they are just some more victims of black dog syndrome. All their siblings had cool brindle coats, but these boys are just "plain black dogs". 😭😭😭

We think they are gorgeous and sweet and smart and loving and trainable as can be.

All the other families have sung the praises of their pups at home and we know Joey and Kovu would be just as amazing!!

Though we are singing Happy Birthday to them and trying to make their day a little brighter, we are frankly just super sad for them!!

Joey and Kovu deserve a home of their own and they are still at such a good age to learn how to be rockstar pups for their familes!!

They are Belgian Malinois/Golden Retriever mixes and they truly have all the most amazing qualities of both breeds!!!

Can we please, please, please share this post and also, wish these boys the happiest 1st birthday and send out all the vibes they dont have celebrate their second birthdays here.

Ps: Y'all have to suffer through listening to my singing as punishment for letting puppies grow up in a kennel. 🤣🤣🤣
