🚑 Keeping our community safe means making sure our responders have the equipment they need when an emergency happens.

Emergency medical equipment is constantly advancing, but replacing outdated or discontinued equipment comes at a significant cost. Approval of the EMS Levy would provide dedicated funding to help purchase and upgrade critical medical equipment and other lifesaving tools our Firefighter/EMTs rely on every day.

These upgrades help ensure our responders can continue providing high-quality emergency medical care when every second matters.

The EMS Levy is an investment in the equipment, resources, and emergency response capabilities that help protect our community — today and into the future.

LADDERS!
While most of us enjoyed playing the board game chutes & ladders as little kids, it is probably safe to say that most of us didn’t know how important ladders would be to us in our profession as adults. Ladders are core life saving tools for us in the fire service. From ground ladders to aerial ladders they are used for rescue, roof access, ventilation and paths of egress (escape routes). We train on a regular basis with them, so we can be efficient with them during emergencies.

When cardiac arrest happens, every minute matters. A quick EMS response can mean the difference between life and death, allowing trained responders to begin high-quality CPR, provide defibrillation, and deliver advanced lifesaving care as quickly as possible.

Having staffed fire stations means help is ready to respond when the call comes in—because during a cardiac emergency, there simply isn’t time to waste.

SCFD3 will be hosting a series of EMS Levy Town Hall Meetings throughout the District. These are opportunities to hear directly from District leadership about why the levy is being proposed, what it would cost, what it would fund, and what it could mean for emergency response — and to ask your questions.

📍 Town Halls will be held at several SCFD3 fire stations throughout the District.
