we are a community passionate about connecting students and others to Jesus. we’re all about living life together and making an impact on the world. no matter who you are, where you come from or what you believe, we want to know you. Cru is a world-wide organization with locations on most campuses in the US. our movement at EWU is made up of EWU students, EWU alumni, and other grads who are sold out on living the .

👀 how many times did you see THESE THREE WORDS today? have you ever noticed that people who follow Jesus don’t use his name in the past tense? why is that?

bc after three days, Jesus conquered death! The work was finished and the story of God making things right leaps forward….

-the shame that was put on Jesus days before, God put to death, Jesus has ultimate honor and invites humanity to be part of his honorable family

-death was dealt the final blow and fear cannot stand against the power that defeating death

-the guilt sentence for sin was paid for in its entirety and now we have the gift of innocence extended to us to receive

so the story doesn’t end with friday, it is CONTINUING PRESENT DAY and we have the opportunity to live in a new kingdom that cannot be shaken. and that is great news today, and tomorrow, and the next day...because Jesus is alive and interacting with the world today!

👀 you’re probably seeing A LOT OF THIS SHAPE on your feed. what’s up with it?

the symbol of the roman cross was not one of hope. it was a tool of embarrassment, punishment and death.

on the friday of Jesus’ death:
-he was publicly stripped & shamed
-he was abandoned
-he took the spot saved for the condemned
-he fought a cosmic battle and it looked bleak

so why would a follower of Jesus celebrate this shape?

Last week we prayed for and sent off our spring break service team! They’ve been in Oregon two days now and we are so excited to hear about how God is moving in that community.

So...if Lent (and growing in faith for that matter) is a **process** what are some of the common things that God wants us to be aware of in that process?

Join us on IG Live as we have a conversation about some of the pits we fall into that actually have zero value in the process.

Colossians 2:17 says “the substance belongs to Christ” and yet we still try to find our worth in other things.  We don’t know about you, but this season of Lent has magnified the worthless things we hold on to.

But there is hope.

Jesus is worth clinging to.

In Him, there is substance.
