Artessa Alliance is an Award–Winning Cooperative in the Arts whose members have won numerous honors, including -

ter & Best of Philly. Member artists are also authors, educators, business owners, art editors, international workshop leaders, designers, curriculum developers, jewelers, painters, photographers, muralists, and bloggers. Their work is collected, published, and exhibited worldwide, and shown in such publications as Trends, Country Living, Philadelphia Stories and more. Members have been profiled on NPR, in The Philadelphia Inquirer, Newsworks.org, PHL Channel 17, and many local publications. These artists work in a variety of mediums including acrylic, oil, encaustic, collage, casein tempera, photography, watercolor, fabric, printmaking, metalsmithing, wire, digital media, and paper mache.

Artessa artist Nancy Agati will be exhibiting
“Terzi (3rds)”
in an upcoming 3 person exhibition - MAC.

This work on paper was first displayed in the Artessa Biennial 2023 at CCA.
Agati is excited to be showing work alongside two amazing fellow artists Nathan Pankratz and Kate VanVliet.
The exhibition, Affinities opens Friday May 22nd and runs through July 2nd.

Artessa Alliance is opening our collective to a few new members!

We’re looking to expand Artessa Alliance to include artists with diverse backgrounds, creative practices, and perspectives. Our goal is to add up to three new artists.

Applications will remain open through December 31, 2025. We will review the applications in early 2026 and send notification of our decisions by February 28, 2026.

Artessa Alliance is excited to announce its 3rd Biennial Exhibition, “THE PEACE OF WILD THINGS”, at the renowned Cheltenham Center for the Arts, September 15 - October 10, 2025. An Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, 6-8pm.
Inspired by Wendell Berry’s poem of the same name, “The Peace of Wild Things” explores the intersection of nature, tranquility, and the human spirit. The exhibition showcases a diverse and vibrant collection of works by its current 14 members: Nancy Agati, Michelle Ciarlo-Hayes, Elena Drozdova, Mo Ganey, Megan Raab Greenholt, Megan Grugan, Colleen Hammond, Brenda Howell, Karen Hunter MacLaughlin, Julie Mann, Kimberly Mehler, Glynis Raisch, Julia Way, and Rebecca Schultz.
