Your deepest longing as a believer…

…is to know Jesus.

Not just to know about Him—
but to truly understand who He is.

And one of the most powerful ways to do that is by listening to what He says about Himself.

In "I Am: The Identity of Jesus", you'll walk through the “I AM” statements in the Gospel of John—studying His words, slowing down in Scripture, and discovering the depth of what He reveals about His identity.

With a simple 2-week format, this study is designed to help you engage God's Word in a way that's both meaningful and doable—whether on your own or with a group.

And as you spend time in His Word, you won't just learn more about Him…

You'll draw closer to Him—and find rest in His love.

Ever notice how different books of the Bible can feel completely different from each other?

One day you’re reading Romans and diving into deep theology. The next day you’re in Song of Solomon reading poetic love language.

That’s because the Bible isn’t one single-style book—it’s made up of different genres written by different authors across different contexts.

And understanding those genres can completely change the way you study Scripture.

In this clip, we’re introducing several major Bible genres and talking about why recognizing them helps you better understand the author’s intent and the truth God is communicating through His Word.

We all want joy.

And if we're honest, we've probably looked for it in a hundred different places.

Success.
Relationships.
Experiences.
Entertainment.
The next thing we hope will finally satisfy.

Sometimes those things give us a glimpse of happiness. But it never seems to last.

That's why Jesus' words in John 15 are so striking.

He doesn't leave us guessing where joy is found. He tells us plainly: abiding in Him is the source of lasting joy.

Not a temporary distraction.
Not a counterfeit version.
Real, deep, abiding joy.

In episode 6 of the Know God Deeply podcast, we're exploring Jesus as the True Vine and what it means to abide in Him.

They heard the report. They knew the threats were real.

And they prayed.

But notice where the prayer begins — not with the crisis, and not with what they needed. It begins with who God is: Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them.

Let’s focus on “Sovereign Lord” in Acts 4:24. The phrase means absolute ruler, the one who holds all authority. Before the gathered church asked for anything, they anchored themselves in the character of the God they were praying to.

The One who made everything that exists is the One to whom they brought their fear.

That should inform how you pray.

Jesus never intended for our faith to stop with us.

In John 15, He paints a picture of a vine and branches—showing us that a life connected to Him will naturally bear fruit.

And one of the clearest fruits of abiding in Christ?

Love.

Not just being nice.
Not just doing good deeds.
But a genuine, Christ-like love for others that flows from our relationship with Him.

Because you can't separate love for God from love for people. The two grow together.

Just as a branch receives life from the vine, our love for others is rooted in the love we've first received from Christ.

In episode 6 of the Know God Deeply podcast, we're exploring Jesus as the True Vine and what it means to abide in Him and bear fruit.

Sometimes prayer can begin to feel more like a duty than a delight.

Rushed.
Distracted.
Lifeless.

But Scripture invites us into something deeper—an ongoing relationship with God woven into everyday life.

What if prayer was never meant to be confined to quiet moments alone?
What if it looked more like continual dependence, continual connection, continual communion with the Father?

Something new is coming.

What does it look like to truly grow?

To bear fruit… to experience lasting joy… to walk in obedience?

Jesus gives us the answer:
“Abide in Me.”

In the final episode of this season of the Know God Deeply podcast, we’re studying John 15 and what it means to remain connected to Christ—the true Vine.

Because real growth doesn’t come from striving harder… it comes from staying connected.

And there is no greater joy than abiding in Him.

Want to understand the big picture of a book of the Bible?

Start looking for segments.

A segment is a major division within a book—a group of verses or chapters that focus on the same event, topic, person, place, or theme.

As you study, you’ll begin to notice these natural divisions emerge from the text itself. And when you do, they can help you follow the flow of the author’s message and see how different parts of the book connect together.
