A new look for the ISRA, the same mission. After 123 years, we are continuing to advance while strengthening our mission and today we are proud to introduce our new ISRA logo.
The new mark should represent the full scope of ISRA’s mission, including:
Educating members about fi***rm ownership and safety. Using legislative advocacy to protect members from threats to their Second Amendment rights. Providing education, safety training, and support for Illinois fi***rm owners. Protecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens in Illinois.
The symbols used in the new Illinois State R***e Association mark are borrowed from our nation's flag, a symbol of freedom and national unity.
- The ISRA letters indicate IS for Illinois State, and RA for R***e Association.
- These letters demonstrate a powerful union of support for our members' education.
- The mark has been created in a flag design which indicates forward movement.
- The white star represents the State of Illinois star as it rests on our nation's flag.
- The blue field on which it rests stands for vigilance, perseverance, and justice.
- The red line under ISRA represents our line of sight to the education of our members.

CCL HOLDER CONFRONTED DURING ARMED ROBBERY ATTEMPT IN ORLAND PARK

An Illinois Concealed Carry License holder was pumping gas in Orland Park when police say a masked man approached, pointed a fi***rm at him and demanded his property.

The CCL holder responded by drawing his legally carried fi***rm and firing. He was not injured.

Orland Park Police say the alleged robber arrived in a stolen vehicle and possessed a stolen fi***rm. Prosecutors approved five felony charges, including attempted armed robbery and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon involving allegations that he had no FOID card or CCL.

ISRA President Doug Mayhall breaks down what happened and why this case is part of the continuing discussion over lawful concealed carry and criminal misuse of fi***rms.

All charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

ISRA IS FIGHTING AT THE U.S. SUPREME COURT.

On September 3, the Illinois State R***e Association filed an amicus brief in Viramontes v. Cook County, supporting the challenge to Cook County’s ban on commonly owned semiautomatic fi***rms and standard-capacity magazines.

Our message to the Supreme Court is clear: lower courts cannot keep inventing new tests that weaken the Second Amendment. Heller and Bruen mean something, and commonly owned arms used by law-abiding citizens for lawful purposes cannot simply be written out of constitutional protection.

And this is only one part of ISRA’s legal fight.

We continue to fight and support litigation involving Illinois’ PICA gun and magazine ban, concealed carry restrictions, dealer regulations, young-adult Second Amendment rights, FOID delays, suppressor restrictions, and more.

Court battles take resources. We need Illinois gun owners standing with us.
