Intermediate–Advanced Shooters: This class is built for you.

Join Brian Hill of The Complete Combatant for Pistol Proficiency at the Illinois State Rifle Association Range on June 27 and June 28.

This course is designed for experienced shooters who want to sharpen real-world skills, improve decision-making, and push their pistol work to the next level.

Training topics include verbal commands, “hands occupied” work, distance-relative decisions, close-quarter retention and compression, malfunction clearing, one-handed shooting, multiple attackers, drills, matches, and rank patch work.

Chicago’s violence is heartbreaking. But law-abiding gun owners are not the problem.

Another weekend in Chicago brought more shootings, more families grieving, and more proof that Illinois politicians are targeting the wrong people.

Illinois already has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. Law-abiding firearm owners follow those laws. We pass background checks. We train. We store our fi****ms responsibly. We take safety seriously.

Violent criminals do not.

The answer is not more restrictions on responsible citizens. The answer is real consequences for repeat offenders, stronger enforcement of existing laws, and respect for the constitutional rights of Illinois gun owners.

ISRA President Doug Mayhall makes it clear: we will keep fighting in Springfield, in the courts, and in communities across Illinois to defend the Second Amendment and demand accountability.

The GSSF G***k League kicks off this Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the ISRA Range.

We’ll have two start times available:

Morning session: Safety briefing at 8:30 AM, shooting starts at 8:45 AM.
Afternoon session: Safety briefing at 1:30 PM, shooting starts at 1:45 PM.

Categories include Stock, Rimfire, MOS, and Unlimited, with Ladies, Seniors, and Juniors divisions available.

Cost is $20 for the first firearm and $15 for each additional firearm. Re-fires are $5 each.

Participants will receive a ticket for a drawing to win 50 rounds of 9mm. Re-fire participants will also be entered into a special year-end drawing to win a G***K firearm sponsored by the ISRA Range.

This match is open to GSSF members only. GSSF registration will not be available at the match, so please join GSSF before Sunday.

Come out, compete, train, and enjoy a safe day on the range with fellow Illinois gun owners.

Today we honor the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who pass down more than skills. They teach faith, family, freedom, safety, responsibility, and respect.

For generations, Illinois dads have helped keep alive a proud American tradition: lawful firearm ownership, safe training, and the duty to defend what matters most.

Freedom held the line in Springfield.

As the Illinois General Assembly closed its 2026 Spring Session, ISRA had good news for Illinois gun owners. The so-called G***k Ban, the RIFL Act, the ammunition serialization and tax scheme, and broad new polling-place firearm restrictions all failed to pass this spring.

That didn’t happen by accident. ISRA tracked more than 350 firearm-related bills, testified in committee, met with lawmakers, and helped mobilize gun owners across Illinois. In a state where anti-gun bills keep coming, stopping bad legislation is a major victory.

ISRA is hosting NRA Certified Range Safety Officer training at the World Shooting & Recreational Complex in Sparta, Illinois.
