Update on Gattlin, the filly that we saved in December from kill pen. I have been blessed to be super busy with client horses, however I had pushed Gattlin to the back burner. Finally, I have had an opportunity to spend some time with her.
Gattlin was completely unhandled- not halter broke and not able to be touched. I got her into a small pen within the paddock. From there I use the touch stick in an advance and retreat manner. I put pressure on her (stick near, then on her) then remove pressure when she relaxes. And of course, she is rewarded with treats. It was the 2nd day before she would take a treat from scoop in my hand. She made huge progress within the first sessions. She is very sweet and tries hard. I really love this beautiful filly. β€οΈπ΄
