As we conclude our 2026 Franklin County 4-H Livestock Roundup and Sale recognition series, this post is dedicated to the people who spent nearly a year working behind the scenes to make it all happen.
The Heart Behind the Roundup and Sale: Our Franklin County 4-H Livestock Committee
The Franklin County 4-H Livestock Roundup and Sale is much more than a single evening. It is the result of 11 months of planning, problem-solving, meetings, phone calls, emails, facility visits, sponsorship outreach, buyer relations, rule discussions, and countless volunteer hours dedicated to creating the best possible experience for our young people.
Our Livestock Committee is made up of volunteer 4-H leaders and parents representing Franklin County's Beef, Goat, Pig, and Sheep Clubs. While many people see the sale ring on sale day, they don't always see the dedicated team that works all year long to bring that moment to life.
Every decision made, every challenge addressed, and every hour volunteered is guided by one simple question:
"What is best for the kids?"
This committee works tirelessly to ensure that the Roundup remains focused on providing meaningful educational experiences, opportunities for growth, and a rewarding marketplace for the hardworking 4-H members who have invested so much time into their livestock projects.
To our committee members: thank you for your leadership, patience, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to Franklin County 4-H. Thank you for the evenings away from your families, the early mornings, the late nights, and the countless tasks that often go unnoticed. Most importantly, thank you for believing in our youth and for creating opportunities that help young people develop responsibility, confidence, work ethic, and lifelong skills.
The success of the 2026 Franklin County 4-H Livestock Roundup and Sale rests on the shoulders of many volunteers, and this committee deserves an enormous share of the credit.
