I've had this set posted on Marketplace. I need to get rid of it. I received a more age appropriate kitchen table and chairs for the Daniel Whitmore house. I will take any reasonable offers. The table is solid wood with some blemishes (one looks like paint that may come off) The 3 chairs are mismatched. It's a drop- leaf table where a leg swings out on each side to support the extention. All proceeds go to Ceres Historical Society. Was asking $100. If interested, PM please

The Ceres Historical Society has just become the steward of the Ceres Courier archives... those that haven't been digitized. I'm thrilled to get these. Most people don't want them, but it's fascinating to look at the old articles and the ads for businesses that no longer exists. What's special is that there was a fire at the Ceres library (formerly located on 4th street) in the 1970s. Someone threw lit matches down the book return drop which resulted in the loss of the Courier archives and other paper items. Fortunately, not the entire library. I've yet to organize them, but they range from the 1940s to 2000.

Had a wonderful morning! The Chamber of Commerce held their Coffee and Conversation at the museum. It was so nice for lots of people to visit the museum and Daniel Whitmore house that had never been there before!
Remember that even though we don't currently have fixed hours, you are more than welcome to call (Sheryl Trout at 209-581-3134 ) and schedule a tour. We welcome groups and individuals.
