If you are interested in participating in the Namaste Spay and Neuter Event on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the Carthage Civic Center, you will need to request an appointment online through DeHart Veterinary Services at https://www.dehartvetservices.com.

**Important:** A $15 flea-prevention fee, which is not covered by the grant, will be assessed when you schedule your appointment online for the October 21, 2026 event.

🐾 **BIG NEWS FOR PANOLA COUNTY PET OWNERS!** 🐾

As many of you know, celebrity actress Katherine Heigl’s foundation, The Jason Heigl Foundation, has selected Panola County Dog Rescue as a recipient of its Namaste Spay & Neuter Initiative Grant! 🎉

We wanted to share some preliminary information with our followers as we prepare for this exciting event.

🐶 SPAY & NEUTER EVENT

Our rescue organization has partnered with DeHart Veterinary Clinic of Jacksonville, TX, who will be performing the spay and neuter surgeries.

We officially signed the grant contract with The Jason Heigl Foundation today, so we can now announce that the event will take place:

📅 Wednesday, October 21, 2026
📍 Carthage Civic Center
Carthage, Texas

❤️ WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

There are no additional restrictions other than we ask that applicants be residents of Panola County, Texas.

If you live in Rusk County, Texas, and are otherwise eligible, please apply through our other spay and neuter grant program, which is funded by the Prentice Foundation.

🩺 WHAT IS INCLUDED?

The Jason Heigl Foundation is funding 100 pets to receive:

✅ FREE spay or neuter surgery
✅ FREE rabies vaccination
✅ FREE microchip

The microchips are being generously funded by the SJM Family Foundation. ❤️

**Flea prevention is required for every pet receiving services.** A **$15 deposit fee** will be assessed when you register online for an appointment through the DeHart Veterinary Clinic website.

More information about registration and appointment scheduling will be shared as soon as everything is finalized.

📸 PLEASE BE AWARE

Photos and video will be taken throughout the event, including footage of participants and their pets.

These photos and videos will be provided to The Jason Heigl Foundation and may be used for advertising, promotional materials, animal welfare education, and promotion of their organization and grant programs.

👕 EVENT SPONSORS NEEDED!

We are also looking for organizations, churches, and businesses throughout Panola County who would like to help make this event a success!

We are seeking sponsors for only $150, which will help us cover the cost of event signs and T-shirts.

Arizona is a beautiful 4-month-old female Labrador/Bluetick Coonhound mix looking for her forever home! ❤️🐶

This sweet girl is curious, energetic, affectionate, and already showing a little leadership for her age. She absolutely loves water, cuddling, exploring, and spending time outdoors. With some patience and training, Arizona could make a wonderful hunting companion for an active family who enjoys the outdoors. 🌲🐾

Arizona has already received 3 rounds of vaccines and dewormer. She also has a brother, Phoenix, and the two of them love playing and wrestling together!

🏡 Arizona is looking for a forever family who can provide:

An active, safe environment

🐾 Meet Phoenix — Looking for His Forever Home! 🐾

Phoenix is a handsome 4-month-old Labrador & Bluetick Coonhound mix searching for a loving, forever family! ❤️

With his beautiful dark chocolate brown coat and sweet personality, Phoenix is sure to capture your heart. He is very affectionate, loyal, and protective—and he absolutely LOVES the water! 💦🐾

One of Phoenix’s funniest quirks is taking an occasional bath right in his drinking water! 😂💦 He certainly knows how to keep himself entertained!
