Looking back on last year and feeling grateful for every opportunity we have to show up, serve, and honor those who gave so much. Some traditions run deeper than the weather. 🇺🇸 2025’s flag replacement.

Today's Memorial Day Parade was canceled out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our youth sports participants, but the spirit of the day was not diminished for a single moment.
The Carver Fire Department, Police Department, the Sons of Veterans, and members of the community came together to carry out a Silent Memorial March through Central Cemetery, complete with a color guard, the soulful sound of bagpipes, and a deeply moving rendition of the National Anthem. Our Scouts were honored to be invited to march alongside them and pay their respects to those who gave everything for this country.
And as if the heavens themselves wanted to see it through, the skies held back the rain just long enough for the march and ceremony to be completed.
To every first responder, veteran, Scout, and community member who showed up today, Thank you. Memorial Day is not about a parade. It is about remembrance, gratitude, and honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live freely. Today, Carver did exactly that. 🇺🇸

Join us in extending our deepest gratitude to our dedicated Girl Scouts and volunteers who put on an extra layer and gave their time today, rain and all, to honor the Veterans laid to rest at Lakenham Cemetery.
A heartfelt recognition goes to two of our Scouts, Emily and Gen, who have been actively working toward their Silver Award. As they addressed our group they told how their project is one of great purpose and compassion, to ensure that no Veteran in Carver, Massachusetts goes unseen. Their work will extend across all cemeteries in Carver where Veterans have been laid to rest, carefully inspecting war memorial plaques and stands for damage, verifying that headstones remain legible, and confirming that every individual who served in the United States Military has been honored as they deserve.
This Silver Award project is a gift to our entire community, a lasting commitment to preserving the memory and dignity of those who gave so much in service to our country.
In the coming months, they will be welcoming community volunteers to assist with replacing damaged or missing markers, cleaning headstones, and clearing overgrowth where needed. We look forward to sharing more details on how you can be part of this meaningful effort.
If you happen to notice a missing or damaged War Memorial plaque, or a marker that is no longer present at the graveside of a Veteran anywhere in Carver, we ask that you please reach out by email at [email protected].
Every name carved in those stones tells a story of sacrifice and service. Thank you to these remarkable young women for making sure those stories are never forgotten.

A huge thank you to our incredible Girl Scouts, volunteers, siblings, and community members who came out today for our Annual Girl Scout Triangle Day, pulling weeds and refreshing the mulch🌿
Your hard work and dedication to keeping our space beautiful means more than words can say. It truly takes a village and today you showed up and showed out!
We were also so excited to pair this year's event with a special Kindness Rock Painting Activity hosted by Troop 70807. 🪨🎨 If you stopped by to paint a rock, thank you for adding your creativity and kindness to our growing "River." If you haven't had a chance yet, it's not too late, paint a beautiful rock at home and add it to the collection!
To every scout, every family member, every neighbor who gave their time today — thank you. This community is something truly special. 💚

All are welcome to add to our Rock Garden River display at the Girl Scout Triangle on May 23rd at 11 am.
