The Post 42 Commander is requesting volunteers for Post Clean-up and Set-up in preparation for the up-coming Monday Memorial Day Service.
-Post Clean-up will be this Saturday at 10AM.
-Post Set-up will be this Sunday at 6PM.

"One of our fellow legionnaires, Kenny Leonard, passed away last week. His service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery on 3/26/25 at 12:30pm. Post 42 Honor Guard will do full honors. Please keep the Leonard family in you thoughts and prayers."

Today is the 80th Anniversary of the 1st day of the Battle of Iwo Jima. This was a brutal combat action, during the Second World War, by the US Navy and Marine Corps, with some US Army Air Force participation, to capture the island from the Japanese. It lasted 5 weeks and cost 6836 American Soldiers, Sailors and Marines their lives and almost 20,000 more were wounded. 22 Marines (12 posthumously) and 5 Sailors, 4 that were Pharmacist Mates/Hospital Corpsman (2 posthumously) were awarded the Medal of Honor. Let us remember their sacrifice.
