Meaningful arts programming has the power to connect us as a society and revitalize us as individuals. Art plays a fundamental role in a well-rounded educational system as well as a prospering economy. Communities that integrate art into their culture posses a universal language with which to interpret the past and envision the future. Central Jersey has an incredibly rich and diverse cultural landscape. CJAC ensures communities have access to everything this region has to offer.

Join us as the Borough of Carteret proudly celebrates Pride, Diversity, and Inclusion at our annual GSA Pride Day Flag Raising Ceremony. Hosted by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman, the Carteret Borough Council, the Carteret GSA Committee, and the Central Jersey Arts Council, this event brings together residents, families, allies, and community leaders to honor the LGBTQIA+ community and reaffirm our commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive Carteret for all.

As part of this year's celebration, the Central Jersey Arts Council (CJAC) will help transform the Town Center into a vibrant symbol of pride and community. Join us on Sunday, June 14, at 10:00 AM as volunteers and community members come together to paint the Town Center Pride Circle in preparation for the flag-raising ceremony. This colorful community art project reflects the spirit of unity, visibility, and belonging that Pride represents.

✨ Sweet memories were made at our Golden Butter Cake Decorating: Mommy & Me Edition! 🍰💛

Families joined us for an afternoon filled with creativity, laughter, and beautifully decorated cakes alongside Pastry Chef Alexis Coccio. From learning buttercream basics to creating floral-inspired designs, everyone brought their own unique touch to each cake masterpiece. 🌸🎂

Thank you to all the wonderful families who attended and made this event so special. Watching parents and children create together, share smiles, and make lasting memories is what community arts programming is all about.

We’re so grateful for your continued support and cannot wait to bring more creative experiences to our community soon! ✨

Another great night at Leather Lab with the Central Jersey Arts Council ✨

Participants spent the evening designing and crafting their own handmade leather keychains while learning the foundations of leatherworking through stamping, assembling, and finishing techniques. Every piece came out completely unique, showcasing everyone’s creativity and personal style.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, created with us, and helped make the workshop such a fun and welcoming experience. We love seeing our community come together through art, craftsmanship, and creativity.

Another unforgettable experience with the Central Jersey Arts Council on our third community trip — this time to the breathtaking BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, New Jersey.

From the incredible architecture and peaceful atmosphere to the shared moments of reflection, culture, and connection, this trip was truly something special. Seeing our community come together to explore such a beautiful space reminds us how meaningful these experiences can be.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day memorable. We’re excited to continue creating opportunities that bring people together through art, culture, history, and exploration.
