How cool is this?!
Backwoods Brewing is hosting a Walk/Run in Hillsboro on October 4th to help support local kids and fight child food insecurity. Join the fun and help spread the word!

RUN HUNGER INTO THE GROUND!

The 1st Annual Backwoods 5K is coming to Downtown Hillsboro on Sunday, October 4th!

Run, walk, jog, or shuffle your way through a 3.1-mile course featuring historic Downtown Hillsboro and a little hidden backwoods trail along the way.

But this one is about more than just crossing the finish line. All proceeds and donations help provide meal access and nourishment resources for children in Hillsboro.

And because you earned it… after the race, head up to the Backwoods rooftop for awards, a commemorative Backwoods pint glass, and your choice of a b**r or non-alcoholic drink.

Come see us Monday night at National Night Out!

There will be free backpacks, dinner, activities, tons of community booths, and plenty of fun for the family. We will be there handing you out free snacks to every kid who stops by our booth! Come say hi!

A small change that makes a big difference! This year, we are trying out a smaller shelf-stable milk after hearing through our anonymous family surveys that bag weight matters. It still gives students enough for cereal & oatmeal, while making those weekend bags a little easier to carry home in backpacks.

We’re always listening and adjusting! 🤍

The Battle in the Backwoods recap is here! 🎥

It’s hard to capture just how much fun this weekend was, but this comes pretty close. From the golf course to the ball drop and everything in between, we had an absolute blast. Even better? Every bit of that fun helped support the work of the Backwoods Foundation and keep food going home with local kids.

We’re so grateful to everyone who showed up, sponsored, volunteered, donated and made this year’s Battle in the Backwoods one to remember.

School is back, and so are our Weekend Food Bags! The Backwoods Foundation provides free weekend food bags for local students throughout the school year.

Grab a form and sign up at your school office! There is no income verification required, and participation is completely confidential. Our first bags of the school year go home this week.

Come see our volunteers at the Stevenson Farmers Market today!

We’ll have FREE shelf-stable food bags available for any child, plus a few extra snacks and games while you’re there.

And don’t forget, if you receive SNAP benefits, you can make your farmers market stop go even further. Bring your SNAP benefits and turn $25 into $50 to spend on fresh food and produce at the market.

A free food bag from us + fresh local food from the market = a pretty great Saturday. We love this collaboration and hope you’ll stop by and see us today!

Our volunteers packed shelf stable food bags today for our final summer food bag pickup this Saturday at the Stevenson Farmers Market.
