We served *388* meals on Thursday! Most people ever. We had a great time seeing friends and neighbors and new faces.

We could use a few small favors, if it works for you. You'll see more trash than fits in Calvary's dumpsters piled at the north end of the east parking lot, if you glance that direction. Do you have room in your dumpster for an extra bag? We'd appreciate the assist.

Also, I (Linda) have three marked pie pans and two really nice but unmarked pie carriers with me. I'll be reaching out to the owner of the marked pans, but if the carriers are yours, please let me know.

Thankful barely describes how we feel about out volunteers -- all of you who helped in so many ways to make all our Community Thanksgiving Dinner a success. You peeled, roasted, decorated, wrapped, packed, stacked, washed (and washed, and washed), b***d and sliced, cooked, posted, printed, invited, delivered, poured, scooped, and vacuumed and cleaned after the party was done. And some of you did all this, before or after you prepared a feast at home.

And let's talk about everyone who dined with us today, in "our" house or yours. You're all part of our Thanksgiving family, and we're thankful for our community and the support you're shown us over the years.

Are things becoming clearer? We'll have the gravy ready, and succulent, roasted turkey, mounds mashed potatoes, herbed stuffing, buttery sweet corn, glazed sweet potatoes, crisp coleslaw, tart cranberry sauce, fresh-baked buns, cold milk, hot coffee, and tables and tables of delicious pies: pumpkin, apple, and so many more. Thursday at noon, serving from Calvary Baptist Church, 725 Main Street, Carrington.
