A wonderful Fly Fishing Clinic with our friends from !

Two days spent fishing in the iconic waters of Rangeley, evenings spent fly tying and enjoying each other’s company.

Thank you to the awesome guides who made this a wonderfully memorable event.

If you visited the AOEC Brunswick during the month of May, you probably saw these two smiling faces! Kiley and Brady are Freeport High School seniors who decided to spend the month of May volunteering with us for their senior project! They helped out with just about every program we have to offer-Horizons Music, Parents’ Night Out, the Mascoma Bank Nature Series, Climbing at EVO, and more! Thank you Kiley and Brady for all your hard work and the lasting impact you made!! Congratulations and we can’t wait to watch your bright futures unfold!

Join us for a special event with Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens at the AOEC Brunswick on June 11th at 10am to make beautiful Japanese “kokedama,” a moss ball planter! This horticultural therapy event will combine care for plants and care for one’s self while crafting the hanging planter you can see in the second image.

Spots are very limited, so sign up while they are still available! Visit adaptiveoutdooreducationcenter.org/natureseries to learn more and register!

Last week was a busy, fun filled week at both AOEC locations and beyond!

In the Valley, a nature walk with WorkFirst and a visit from Mt. Abram High School was a great way to enjoy the beautiful spring weather with fun folks!

Our spring afterschool program at Falmouth Elementary School, Horizons Nature Explorers, culminated in a fun animal tracks and s**t education program.

Two visits with our friends from Elmhurst brought joy to the Brunswick campus, as we did a nature scavenger hunt and crafted nature suncatchers with the beautiful items we found outside!

An accessible birdwatching trip to Maine Audubon’s Gilsland Farm as part of our Mascoma Bank Nature Series was a great way to get out into nature and experience the height of Maine’s birdwatching season!

Music with Robbie is always a blast and a great way to make new friends, especially when friends from The Morrison Center start the conga line! 💃

Lastly, our amazing day of activities with Rett Syndrome Angels on Saturday was a fun and fulfilling way for families affected by Rett Syndrome to make community connections, find resources, and support one another. We can’t wait to see all those beautiful faces again soon!
