Sea kayaking in the Stonington Archipelago with Osprey’s Echo Sea Kayaking is truly spectacular and has become one of the highlights of our summer! This weekend was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when incredible organizations and people come together around a shared goal: creating opportunities for everyone to experience the outdoors.
On Saturday, our Eco Tour paddle, sponsored by the Maine Island Trail Association , took us through the beautiful waters of Webb Cove. We spotted local wildlife, learned about their habitats, and explored the rich history of Stonington’s granite quarries and its current lobster co-ops.
Sunday brought our second annual Island Access Day with Maine Coast Heritage Trust , islandheritagetrust , and Osprey Echo Sea Kayaking. This is a day centered around island access for ALL. Some participants paddled their way to Little Camp Island, while others arrived by landing craft. Once on the island, we made our way to its highest point together, taking in the incredible views and the awesomeness of the adventure.
But days like this don’t happen without a community of people willing to collaborate, adapt, pitch in, and create a space for everyone to be part of the experience.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this weekend possible and to the organizations who continue to show us what meaningful collaboration and community can look like. From shuttling gear and providing paddle partners to donating adaptive equipment and making sure everyone could participate, THANK YOU ALL!
A huge thank you to Friends Of Acadia , Numotion Foundation , and Central Maine Power for sponsoring this incredible weekend, and to all of our partners who helped create two unforgettable days on the water.
