Juneteenth is a day that commemorates June 19, 1865- the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
At Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northwest Suburbs, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive environment where every young person feels welcomed, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
As we honor this important moment in our nation’s history, we celebrate freedom, resilience, and the progress made toward creating opportunities for all.
