As the last days of school arrive and summer begins, we're already looking ahead to supporting parents and families as they prepare for the new school year.
A backpack is more than a backpack.
For a child, it can mean walking into school prepared, included, and confident. For a parent, it can mean one less burden during a season that can feel overwhelming and expensive.
Kids In Need Foundation reports that 2 in 3 students start the school year without school supplies, and 100% of teachers report spending their own money on essential classroom supplies. CDC also reports that parent engagement in schools is linked to better student behavior, higher academic achievement, and stronger social skills.
When we support back-to-school needs, we support the whole family.
The Nest and Carroll Township Police Department are collecting backpacks, school supplies, hygiene items, and donations to help local families start the school year with more confidence and less stress.
