Hello dear community,
We have a very special weekend coming up to celebrate the 117th Harvest Festival! Potato Days is Carbondale’s historic longest running special event produced by the Potato Day Committee: Western Mosaic Fund, Current Ritual, The Carbondale Historical Society, The Town of Carbondale Parks & Recreation Department, The Sopris Sun, KDNK Community Radio, Ross Montessori School, The Carbondale Rotary Club and the Carbondale Library. We have a locally sourced harvest lunch for the community, live entertainment, a farmers market, the KDNK record sale and more. So, please mark your calendars for October 2-4, and see below how to get involved!
Potato Days 2026, continues the revolutionary community impact model that began in 2025, ensuring the event's sustainability for the next century while creating lasting benefits for the Roaring Fork Valley's agricultural community. There are two distinct revenue streams: operational funding from foundational donors, and an annual impact fund supported by harvest meal ticket sales, yearly sponsorships and event proceeds.
2026 Impact Fund: Slow Money Western Slope
The 2026 Community Impact Fund recipient is Slow Money Western Slope, a newly launched 0% interest revolving loan fund serving farmers and agricultural businesses on Colorado’s Western Slope. This year’s goal is to direct $25,000 into the fund. Because the fund revolves, every dollar is loaned to a farmer, repaid, and loaned again — working year after year.
