IT WAS INDEED, AWESOME.
Our season finale premiere of the "Awesome Foursome" at BIGArts on April 8th celebrated four extraordinary Captivans—Alice O’Brien, Harold Bixby, J.N. “Ding” Darling, and Kent Curtis.

Through rare footage, photographs, letters, artifacts, and interviews, CIHS documentarian Ken Sneeden captured how these remarkable individuals not only forged an extraordinary connection with one another, but also became early stewards of Captiva’s fragile environment—leaving a legacy that continues to shape the island today.
