SATURDAY MAY 30th: Kids Mayoral Forum!

This first-of-its-kind event will bring elementary school students (ages 8–12) into direct conversation with all mayoral candidates about the future of Santa Cruz. It will take place at DeLaveaga Elementary School on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10:30 AM–12:30 Noon.

Mayor Fred Keeley will moderate the forum, which will be livestreamed free on YouTube and feature real-time audience voting, creating an interactive, transparent, and family-friendly civic experience. We believe this initiative offers young people a meaningful opportunity to voice their opinions on the future they will inherit, while encouraging broader community engagement in the democratic process.
