Alright ya’ll!!! We’re building a teaching apiary at our garden site in Capitol Heights, MD.

Huge shout out to our beekeeping mentor Frank Fennell and sunflower_1981 for helping us bring this vision to life. What started as an idea is turning into a space where community can learn, grow, and get hands-on with pollinators.

Whether you’re curious about beekeeping or are already a pro come join our beehive. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and community spirit.

A little dirt, a lot of love, Earlier this week The Capital Market PvtLtd, we gathered at Ridgely Methodist Episcopal Church and Cemetery with and to plant trees as part of a cultural heritage landscaping project.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Ridgely is critically
Important in the fight for black land, black space, and black futures in Prince George’s County.

Huge love to Kennedy Brooks, who has been leading interpretation and cultural landscape planning efforts in concert with the Mildred Ridgely Gray Charitable Trust.

Shout out to Green Work Jobs for showing up with the energy, expertise, and helping hands to get these trees in the ground.

And major thanks to LISC DC for investing in community-led work that recognizes that healthy neighborhoods need both roots and resources.

What started as a planting day is part of a larger vision: enhancing a 17-acre campus in Capitol Heights to support environmental conservation, biodiversity, and community stewardship.

Our Climate & Food Justice Fellow, Kennedy talks about the work with our partners , , , and , we planted 500 native plants and distributed 250 to neighbors—expanding this work beyond the site and into the community.

What’s the saying? Plant a tree & live forever. Or something like that.

Yesterday, we had so much fun with our friends from and planting the beginnings of our food forest at our home base .

We added nearly 30 trees everything from Pecans, Walnuts, figs, pears, persimmons, serviceberries, apples, jujubes, to our existing edible landscape wineberries, paw-paws, wild grape, and spice bush.

Much love to all our volunteers who helped us getting this moving. And DJ Blackberri for having the grooves to keep us moving.

And that’s not stopping us! We have about 50 more plants to Gooooooooooo.

The Capital Market is excited to be on the task force for The Prince George’s County Food and Agriculture Feasibility Study. The consultant team has developed a survey for farmers, residents, food businesses, wholesale buyers, and stakeholders throughout the County’s food system to gather current insight into the local food and agriculture landscape, to better understand community needs and to assess the interest and demand for potential components of a food hub.

We had a blast at the 2026 PGCPS Student Environmental Alliance Summit hosted at Bowie State University last week!

Of course, we had to bring out the pedal power ⚡🚲—showing how our individual energy can literally spark something bigger. From charging devices to powering up conversations, we’re always finding ways to connect people to the impact of their own movement.

Because when we say community power, we mean it—real, tangible, and rooted in action. What we generate together can reduce energy waste, build awareness, and move us toward a more sustainable future.

It is with profound sadness, yet with hope eternal, that we share that TCM Board member and lead pastor of Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Rev. Ronald E. F. Triplett, affectionately known as Pastor Ron, has transitioned and is now an ancestor.

Since BEFORE TCM formed in 2019, Pastor Ron has been by our side, showing up, supporting, and championing food justice in the greater 20743 community . From hosting prayer walks on Addison Road, to inviting farmers conversations during his sermons, to planting seeds in church services, to letting us build a food forest, host an apiary, and build an Agrihub, his life was lived rooted in the faith and agrarian parables of Jesus.

Words cannot express the grief that our team feels with this loss. We will miss his visits to our farmers markets, his jokes and laughter, his spiritual and grounded guidance, and most importantly his friendship.

Yet, through our tears, we still proclaim joy and are reminded that his work lives on, as we continue to be the hands and feet of his light in the world.
