⛳ A great day on the course for a great cause!
The Propeller Club of Port Canaveral’s 3rd Annual Golf Tournament was a success, and we raised funds for our scholarship program!

Alex Fracarro, a Vessel Manager with Norton Lilly International, was a guest speaker in Rockledge High School HELM Maritime Studies classrooms recently. Alex is a member of the Propeller Club's Education Committee which supports the HELM program and other Propeller Club education initiatives. Alex shared information on his maritime career and other potential careers in the industry. Join the Propeller Club of Port Canaveral for our November Luncheon and Club Annual Meeting as we honor those who have served in our nation’s military ahead of Veterans Day.

We’re pleased to welcome Capt. Doug Pratt, Commanding Officer of the Naval Ordnance Test Unit (NOTU), as our guest speaker. Capt. Pratt’s Navy career began in 1994 and includes command of USS Tucson and numerous submarine and shore leadership assignments.

SPACE FORUM PANEL AT OCTOBER LUNCHEON
The Propeller Club October Luncheon featured a Space Forum panel of speakers consisting of Jeff Koch, Stoke Space; Dave Denholm, The Spaceport Company; and Milo Zonka, Spaceport/Airport Consultant. Jeff started off the panel with an overview of Stoke Space, a start up with plans to launch their Nova launch vehicles from historic Launch Complex 14 at Cape Canaveral. The launch vehicles will be fully reusable with a rapid turnaround for a high launch cadence operation. A recovery vessel is currently under design for the maritime component of returning the launch vehicles to Port Canaveral. Jeff noted that the company is on track for its first launch from SLC 14 early in 2027 and plans to take delivery of their recovery vessel in 2028. Dave followed with a presentation on The Spaceport Company, an offshore launch provider that operates a launch pad ship and a semi-submersible launch platform. The ship, MV Once In A Lifetime, is 180’ length by 40’ beam and has a blast reinforced flight deck. The “Tri-Sub” semi-submersible is named “And She Was” and future plans include building larger versions for bigger rockets. If the vessel names sound familiar you would be correct in noticing that they are Talking Heads song names. Dave said that as the company expands they will move to providing land-based launch options in addition to the offshore opportunities. Both companies are targeting the bottleneck of high launch demand that current launch providers are not able to meet and are already working with government agencies and commercial clients. Milo finished out the panel presentations with a “big picture” look at what’s happening on the Space Coast and the challenges that the industry faces. He noted that there are currently 11 space companies operating out at the Cape with big infrastructure projects underway to support future launches. He said that infrastructure is the biggest challenge ahead pointing out that the technology originally put in place in the 1960’s needs to be replaced. Water and launch fuel availability are among the big challenges to be solved. Milo noted that Melbourne Airport and Port Canaveral are significantly impacted in providing infrastructure support for the ambitious plans of the space industry. JACK CROCKETT RECOGNIZED
The following post is from International Propeller Club Southeast Region Vice President (and Propeller Club of Port Canaveral Past President) Kevin Jobes: "Today was a proud day to serve as the Southeast Vice President of the International Propeller Club. I had the distinct honor of officially presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Jack Crockett of the Propeller Club of Port Canaveral. Jack holds a special place in my heart because he has been a mentor and a guiding influence throughout my journey in the Propeller Club. He introduced me to countless individuals across the United States and around the world, helping me build meaningful relationships and gain a deeper understanding of our organization. More importantly, he taught me what it truly means to serve as a club officer and was one of my strongest advocates in encouraging and supporting my election as Southeast Vice President. While Jack has faced several health challenges over the past year, his commitment to the Propeller Club remains unwavering. His passion, leadership, and dedication continue to inspire those around him. To me, he remains as strong as ever in his pursuit of making the Propeller Club a better organization and ensuring its future success. It was a privilege to recognize a man whose impact on our club, our region, and our members will be felt for generations to come."
