Meet Ted, a six year old Shih Tzu and the newest member of Blake's Buddies Rescue. We simply couldn't say no. Whatever his recovery requires, this little boy will never suffer from neglect again!
His severely matted fur wrapped so tightly around all four paws and his tail that it cut off circulation. On one paw, the fur cut through his skin all the way to the bone, causing a serious infection.
He could lose his leg simply because someone failed to groom him.
This is why we are so careful about who adopts our rescue dogs.
Adopting a dog is the inexpensive part👈 Caring for one is a lifelong financial commitment.
Small dogs often need expensive dental care, sometimes annually. Large dogs can develop costly orthopedic problems. Grooming breeds require regular professional grooming.
Veterinary care, grooming and preventative care are not luxuries.
At Blake's Buddies Rescue, we spend thousands saving dogs and getting them healthy. We carefully screen adopters because we never want them to suffer again.
Before adopting, please consider whether you can afford the care that dog will need for the rest of its life.
