In May 2006, we created an endowment fund through which we provide grants that address the needs of women, children, and families in greater Canton and builds a community of women philanthropists. A New Approach to Philanthropy
In May of 2006, a group of local women gathered to talk about the unmet needs of charities serving women and families within the greater Canton community and how they could

address those needs. From that initial meeting, a ground swell of enthusiasm and support led to the creation of a steering committee, which established Giving Hope, Women’s Giving Circle with the Canton Community Foundation, now a part of the Local Impact Alliance. We invite you to join with other compassionate local women to put your money to use in a powerful, immediate way to benefit women and families in the greater Western Wayne County, MI area.

The ladies of Giving Hope got a sneak preview of the Health Exploration Station located on the lower level of Canton’s Trinity Heath Center. The space is being refurbished by the folks at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and will be open for field trips in the fall. Our Pass the Purse will go to making sure this local gem is enjoyed by the community soon! The link below will be open for donations through June 10, 2026. Please consider donating below!

Today we hold close the memory of founding Giving Hope member Debbie Maloni, who passed away on April 13, 2026, following a short illness. Debbie’s passing leaves a hole in so many hearts. It seems everyone knew Debbie! A celebration of life will be held in Plymouth at a later date.
