Last call for 2025 USDA CWD Grant money. If you want to be reimbursed for any money spent through NADR on GEBV testing your deer, please send me an email ASAP. The deadline is looming and it has taken several weeks to receive funds into our account once submitted to the Department of Ag. Call if you have questions, I just need a copy of your signed Voluntary Herd Plan Agreement and GEBV results for the deer you want to be reimbursed for at $75each.

We have received grant money for several farms in the past week and there is more available to those who submit for it. Our contract with the Department of Ag to distribute the funds ends at the end of June. With 2-3 weeks processing time before funds hit our account, you need to submit now to be reimbursed.

Did you know that newborn fawns need to eat dirt to help them develop antibodies and microbes so they can properly digest food later? If you’re bottle feeding fawns on a surface other than dirt you have to provide them with dirt to eat .
And not “clean “ dirt from fresh undisturbed soil. It’s best to get dirt directly from the pens they’ll be released into later. You need the “dirty “ dirt , 😁, complete with hair , old grass clippings , even some f***l matter.
I do add a handful of minerals to my dirt before letting them have access to it.
