THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY FUN CONTINUES!

Here is an update from MARIE HENTGES ANDERSON, 2001 Ambassador:

"I live in Edina with my husband, Jake, and our three kids - Isla (almost 7), Wells (almost 5), and Sullivan (almost 3).

Professionally, I own a consulting firm and have spent the past nearly two decades doing work I genuinely love. As an industrial/organizational psychologist, I lead a team of about 25 people who help organizations make better talent decisions through executive assessment, leadership development, research, and the development of assessment tools and other intellectual property. In short, if it involves applying psychology to the business world, we’re probably interested in it!

While my career keeps me busy and engaged, the most meaningful part of my life is being a mom. I went from someone who never planned to have children to having three, and they have been the greatest gift. Anyone who knew me growing up would immediately recognize Isla as my mini-me. She loves softball and gymnastics. Wells is a huge sports fan and has already developed a love for hockey (much to my chagrin!). Sullivan is our sweet, cuddly third baby who is quickly discovering his independence and keeping us on our toes.

Looking back, the Cambridge Ambassador Program was a major turning point for me. It helped me develop confidence in myself and gave me an appreciation that the world was much bigger than I realized growing up. It was one of the first experiences that made me believe I could do just about anything if I was willing to work for it.

My favorite part of the year was the opportunity to travel, meet so many incredible people, and grow in confidence. The friendships, experiences, and personal growth are what stand out most 25 years later.

My favorite event was definitely the North Hudson Pepper Fest, where our group absolutely dominated! The three of us were legendary snackers, so there was plenty of “parade preparation” happening before and after every event."

We love that MARIE told us she still has all of her "things" in a large bin that houses tons of pictures, buttons, programs, etc. from her year! She still has her crown, sash, and pins. It has gone with her on no less than 10 moves, and she will never part with it! 🥰

MORE FROM 2001!

It's the 25th Anniversary for our Little Miss Cambridge from that year, too, and DREWANN MISHLER ANDERSON was kind enough to also send us an update:

"I am married to Conner and a mom of four! Although I am a registered nurse, I'm currently a stay-at-home mom living right here in Cambridge."

How fun that DREWANN has had all three of her daughters participate in the Little Miss program!

SHOPPING DAY #2...

COMPLETE. They are worn out, but we had ourselves another great day of wardrobe finds and decisions to be made!

EMMA, ABBIE, and MARIAH have now been fully trained on fabrics, fit, and what makes a garment classy. "We can do better" was our shopping battle cry over the past two days!

IT'S BEEN TWENTY-FIVE YEARS FOR THE 2001s!

What an anniversary for RACHEL, JENNI, and MARIE! How has a quarter of a century gone by in the blink of an eye??!

Let's start with a few words from RACHEL:
"I currently live in Ham Lake with my husband, our dog, and three cats. I work as a training specialist for Tierra Encantada, a leader in Spanish immersion early childhood education. I train the teachers and staff in all formats in both English and Spanish.

This past winter I completed just over a year of treatments and surgeries for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Now I’m focused on recovering and reclaiming my life (and my hair!).

My year as a Cambridge Ambassador gave me so much, and also gave me the opportunity to give back! I gained confidence in public speaking, lifelong friendships, and innumerable professional skills.

Serving and representing the community of Cambridge was an honor, and I’ll never forget the expressions of children as we painted their faces or let them try on our crowns. I’m forever grateful and proud to have held this title!"

The 2001s went down in history as the North Hudson Pepper Fest Royalty Spaghetti Eating Champions. OH, HOW PROUD to take sweet revenge on the 2000's runner-up finish behind the Vulcans of the St. Paul Winter Carnival with HANNAH (2000) as the anchor!

BACK TO OUR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION POSTS!

It's been 20 years for the 2006s, and here's a reflection from REBEKAH (Becky) SCHOENECKER ALECKSON:

"I am so grateful to have been a Cambridge Ambassador and to have had the opportunity to represent the community. Throughout the candidacy experience, I gained interview skills that I still utilize twenty years later, as well as a lasting sense of confidence.

I am forever thankful for the experiences, laughter, and fun I shared during my year as an ambassador serving alongside KATELYN and SHERRY. Two of my favorite memories were the Anoka Halloween Parade, where we dressed up as grannies; and the Crowning Celebration, where we crowned the 2007 Ambassadors. We had so much fun throughout our year and I am thankful to LAURIE, KATELYN, and SHERRY!

Currently, I live in Zimmerman with my husband, Erik, our two boys Ezra (4) and William (1). and our dog, Piper. We love spending time outdoors as a family.

While I work a couple of days a month as an ICU nurse, I truly love being home with my husband and children. In my free time, I enjoy playing volleyball, running, gardening, making sourdough bread, reading, raising chickens!"
