Rum River VFW 2735 Auxiliary We assist Veterans and their Families. We are one of the top ten providers of volunteer hours in the VA medical system.

The VFW Auxiliary is one of the nation's oldest veterans' service organizations and our members are the relatives of those who have served in overseas combat. We have 475,000 members representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign based Auxiliaries who volunteer millions of hours and give millions of dollars to support veterans,military service personnel and their families

. We are a voice of veterans on Capitol Hill and are instrumental in assisting the VFW pass or block legislation that impacts veterans and their families. Every year, members fund raise millions of dollars for charitable projects that benefit veterans and their families. We also provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships of our nation's youth. With more than 4,000 Auxiliaries, there is likely on in your area working to improve the lives of America's uncommon heroes.

Christmas is just around the corner and we have set the date for our annual Children's Christmas Party. Come and join the fun. Santa will be here with Mrs. Claus. We also have the very talented Sherry Longley available to photograph that winning smile with Santa. Photos will be available before Christmas so you can share the cheer with your family and friends. Entries for the Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen Essay contests are now open. If you are a student in grades 9-12 (VOD) or 6-8 (PP) you are eligible to apply. The theme this year is: "How are you showing patriotism and support for our country?" There are monetary prizes awarded at the local, district, state and national level.
Just scan the QR code on the flyers and follow the instructions.

Friday, September 19, 2025, is POW/MIA Recognition Day. It honors those who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action. It is most associated with those who were POWs during the Vietnam War. We at VFW 2735 honor those who were held captive and returned, as well as those who remain missing with a special ceremony starting at 5:30 pm. We invite you to join us at that time.
