👉👉 We're hiring! 📢

As JCHAI continues to grow and expand in the Doylestown area, we are seeking compassionate and creative individuals for our Direct Support Professional+ and other roles based in our D-Hub (Doylestown). Flexible full and part time opportunities are available.

The DSP+ role at JCHAI is not your typical DSP role! We are seeking energetic team members to enhance the lives of our members while ensuring their safety, happiness, and sense of belonging by supporting in-home activities of daily living (ADLs) and group programs.

In addition to working with individuals one-one one in our supported apartment program, our DSP+ will also have opportunities to lead group classes and activities and to interact with members and staff across the organization.

We are not looking for caregivers to do housekeeping, cooking, and other daily chores for our members. We are looking for people who are energetic and enthusiastic about teaching these skills and helping our members work towards their own goals and increase their abilities to do things for themselves.

If you are passionate about teaching individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism to build their own skills, check out the DSP+ role description at https://jchai.org/careers-at-jchai/ to see if the position is right for you.

We are also always looking for great candidates for our Educator/Social Worker, Community Integration role based in our D-Hub, as well as our DSP+ role based in our Main Line Hub. Check out all current openings, and learn more about what it means to join our JCHAI team at https://jchai.org/careers-at-jchai/

Recently, JCHAI members took a trip to the Devon Horse Show & Country Fair!

This was a special opportunity to celebrate and support our fellow JCHAI members who competed in the 2026 Therapeutic Riders Division, a premier competition for riders with and without disabilities. Congratulations, Cara and Jessica!

JCHAI is proud to have launched a new program providing career success training classes for transition-aged secondary students through the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR)’s Professional Connections Foundation (PCF) program!

We recently welcomed our very first cohort of students from Sun Valley High School, who participated in 30 hours of training taught by ACRE-certified JCHAI educators.

The first half of the curriculum centered around classroom learning, while the second half was spent out and about in the community, where students had the opportunity build experiential, real-world skills through workplace tours, a mock job fair, gaining experience in JCHAI's Training Cafe, and more!

Post-program feedback showed that participants:

• Explored different career paths and built workplace readiness skills

• Improved their professional communication and social skills

• Gained confidence through resume development and mock interviews

• Learned how to advocate for themselves in the workplace

💚 April is Volunteer Appreciation Month!

Throughout the month, JCHAI members and staff have been taking opportunities to celebrate our incredible volunteers who are so giving of their time and care to make JCHAI programming the best it can be.

💚 Please join us in recognizing Sharon Rhodes, leader of our Cooking for a Cause partner program with KI!

For more than a year and a half, Sharon has been leading a monthly volunteer initiative where members of AADD, JCHAI, and KI come together to share friendship, teamwork, and the joy of cooking. Each month, participants collaborate to prepare delicious recipes, which are then donated to local nonprofit organizations supporting neighbors in need.

Afterward, volunteers are invited to stay and share dinner and community together, leading to new friendships and a stronger, more inclusive community for all.

Recent meals have benefited Jenkintown Food Cupboard, Cook For A Friend, Hamotzi Community Dinners, JDAIM Shabbat Dinners, and more.

💚 Thank you, Sharon, for your incredible partnership benefiting our entire community!

She has also joined us for countless other group programs like cooking classes, bowling trips, art workshops, and more, and is well-known and loved by members and staff alike for her warmth, friendship, and inclusion of all.

🧡 April is Volunteer Appreciation Month!

Throughout the month, JCHAI members and staff have been taking opportunities to celebrate our incredible volunteers who are so giving of their time and care to make JCHAI programming the best it can be.

🧡 Please join us in recognizing volunteer Keri White, guest instructor of JCHAI's Cooking With Keri class!

In the fall of 2020, Keri White, mom of JCHAI member Cormick, was looking for a way to give back and support JCHAI through the challenges of the COVID pandemic. A food writer and avid cook, she was brainstorming ideas that fit her skill set while filling a need for members and staff. At the same time, Cormick’s aunt, Darby Logan, made a request for her September birthday that year: “I don’t want any gifts, please just do a good deed or an act of service in honor of my birthday.” These two forces aligned to create a cooking class, which became a monthly event on the JCHAI calendar and is now in its 5th year.

Early on, the participants had to keep a safe distance, wear masks, and each dish had to be individually mixed and portioned to ensure the health and safety of all. Members had to take their creations back to their apartments for solo consumption. Now, the class is a convivial, communal activity involving shared effort and offering participants the option to “break bread” together.

🧡Thank you, Keri, for the many years of enriching classes and delicious recipes you have brought to JCHAI!

Last week, JCHAI members in our BuxMont hub celebrated Passover with a Fried Matzah Party! 🫓🫓

Together, attendees cooked and enjoyed a delicious matzah brei bar, choosing sweet or savory toppings to build their own plates.

We also shared a brief reflection on the meaning of freedom and overall, enjoyed an evening of good food and good company together.
