Judith Creed Homes for Adult Independence (JCHAI) is a non-profit, non-sectarian, 501(c)(3) organization.

Judith Creed Horizons for Achieving Independence (JCHAI) promotes independence for adults with developmental differences or disabilities through community building programs and supportive services. Our mission is to educate individuals with disabilities so they live and work in the community as independently as possible.

Members in our Main Line and BuxMont hubs got creative through food art with The Candy Lab!

In this class, participants learned to make a variety of fun, Halloween-themed edible projects using seasonal sweet treats, and shared lots of laughs together in the process!

Our D-Hub members got in the spooky season spirit at a fun-filled Halloween party! Attendees were invited to come dressed in their favorite costumes and enjoyed festive games, activities, music, treats, and plenty of Halloween fun with friends! 🎃 👻 🍬

🎉 🎲 Yesterday, JCHAI members in our BuxMont hub enjoyed a really fun evening of friendly competition, teamwork, and lots of laughter!

From Simon and Minute to Win It challenges to Jenga, Uno, and Trouble, everyone had a great time playing games, working cooperatively, cheering each other on, and enjoying time with friends.

After all the fun and games, members sat down together to enjoy a delicious dinner made by our members and DSPs!

It's officially robotics season again! 🤖🤖

Last week, JCHAI kicked off our 11th Annual Fall Robotics series with Lower Merion High School's DAWGMA Robotics Team as we learn how to build and work with robots and help with this year's national robotics competition! Throughout the 5-session series, our members will explore robots in the real world, the engineering design process, and basic AI concepts.

JCHAI members in our D-HUB had a blast at a recent hands-on pasta making class with Executive Chef David Kinsey!

Together, participants learned the art of making fresh pasta from scratch and preparing a variety of homemade sauces, and then sat down to enjoy the delicious meal we created together.

Big thank you to Chef David Kinsey for another incredible evening in the kitchen!

Congratulations to our fall cohort of participants for completing the JCHAI Cafe Retail Basics Training Series!

Taking place at JCHAI's Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Training Cafe located in our Swartz Education Center, this hands-on program helps build confidence, strengthen workplace skills, and prepare for future job opportunities in a supportive environment.

On Wednesday, as part of JCHAI's DSP Appreciation Week celebration, two extra-special members of our DSP team were selected to be honored this year for their above-and-beyond dedication to the well-being of our members! 💜

🌟 Shona Joshua — For over 20 years, Shona has been a warm and friendly face to JCHAI members, their families, and her fellow staff. She has always been ready to pitch in wherever needed, supporting members as they build and strengthen their independent living skills and even taking calls after hours when they need additional support.

Shona has truly poured her heart and soul into her work with our members. Her dedication, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond have made a lasting impact on the JCHAI community, and she has set a high standard for others to strive toward.

🌟 Yolanda Barnett — Since joining JCHAI in October 2024, Yolanda has brought a smile to everyone she meets. She comes to work each day with a warm, friendly, and positive attitude that is truly infectious to those around her.

Yolanda consistently goes above and beyond in supporting the members she works with. She approaches challenges with patience, compassion, and encouragement, always looking for ways to help members feel supported and successful. Her positive spirit, dedication, and genuine care for our members have made her a valued part of the JCHAI community.

Thank you to our incredible team of JCHAI DSPs, Edith, Seidou, Patrice, Tumuly, Blane, Ilene, Sherrita, Leah, Cherrese, Shona, Stacy, Joy, Yolanda, & Charnele — as well as our passionate DSP supervisors, Sandy, Lauren, Christina, and Patricia — for your hard work and dedication day in and day out.
