Save the Date: 6 Rivers NEMBA and Youth Cycling Project Kids Fun Summer Series
Join 6 Rivers NEMBA and the Youth Cycling Project for a fun, family-friendly summer race series for young mountain bikers. These youth races are designed to help kids build confidence, develop skills, and connect with the local trail community.
Riders of all levels are welcome. We are excited to once again host events at Topsham Ponds, with hopes of returning to Neptune Woods in Brunswick for part of the series. Mark your calendars and come cheer on young riders during great summer evenings of biking, community, and fun.
Race Dates
· Wednesday, July 8, 6–8 p.m. — Topsham Ponds
· Wednesday, July 22, 6–8 p.m. — Topsham Ponds
· Wednesday, August 5, 6–8 p.m. — Topsham Ponds or Neptune Woods
· Wednesday, August 19, 6–8 p.m. — Topsham Ponds or Neptune Woods
Registration will be available onsite on the day of each race. Entry is $15 per rider, and prizes will be awarded in each category.
Race Categories
Youth fun race categories are designed to give riders of different ages and ability levels a safe, supportive, and enjoyable race experience. Categories are organized by age and approximate course time so each rider can participate at an appropriate level.
· Littles: Ages 2–4
1/2 lap, approximately 7–10 minutes
Push bikes or pedal bikes only; no training wheels
Parent participation is required for this category
· Mini B: Ages 5–9
1 lap, approximately 10–15 minutes
· Mini A: Ages 10–12
2 laps, approximately 15–20 minutes
· Jr. B: Ages 12–15
2 laps, approximately 20–25 minutes
· Jr. A: Ages 14–16
3 laps, approximately 30–35 minutes
· High School Varsity/JV: Ages 14–18
5 laps, approximately 45–50 minutes
Come ready to ride, cheer, and enjoy a fun evening of racing, community, and friendly competition. Helmet and properly working pedal bicycle required (non e-bikes). Some assistance for mechanical adjustments will be available at race events.
