- Differences between a complaint, a grievance, and an incident, and the appropriate steps for resolution within organizational policy.

- How to ensure compliance with individual rights and state regulations (including OPWDD and Justice Center guidelines) to protect the health, safety, and dignity of people receiving services.

Hundreds of people receiving Day Services are based in Freeport. This week, everyone got together to celebrate Halloween with a lively parade and karaoke. It was a joy to see people supported and team members sharing the moment, singing, and dancing together.

We had a wonderful Halloween party at the mansion this week. People supported by Day Services across the agency were invited to a special Halloween celebration. Many came to enjoy games, goodie bags, and giveaways, and to sing along with Patrick Sherrad, assistant director and ever-so-talented DJ and MC.

October was a month bustling with activity for the men and women receiving Day Services in Bethpage. Fall fun included visits to the farm, a corn maze stroll, a Halloween Crawl, and a legislative breakfast. There were also plenty of arts and crafts and leisurely activities to enjoy as well.

We're celebrating employment success this NDEAM. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, a time to recognize the valuable contributions people with disabilities bring to the workforce.

Thank you for an incredible 2026 AHRC Foundation Walk!

One Sunday, we joined with over 1,000 people, including families, friends, and supporters of people with disabilities. Together, we raised over $120,000 for the Nassau County AHRC Foundation, an organization dedicated to bridging the financial gap for disability programs and service providers.

Every dollar goes toward ensuring that people with disabilities have access to enriching opportunities.
