In June 2026, New York City announced the expansion of the Fair Fares NYC program, increasing eligibility from 150 percent to 200 percent of the federal poverty level. This expansion will extend eligibility for half-priced subway and bus fares to an estimated 1.3 million working-age New York City residents and will reduce transportation costs for many households struggling to afford the city's rising cost of living.

Eligible New Yorkers can apply through New York City's Fair Fares NYC website. The website provides ways to check your eligibility and submit your application.

All applicants need to submit proof of identity, residency, and income.

New Section 8 Waitlists Are Opening!

Beginning Monday, July 13, 2026, New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) will open waiting lists for select Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Section 8 apartments in New York City.
Application closing on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 5 p.m.

⚠️ Keep in mind:
• These are Project-Based Vouchers (PBVs), which are tied to specific apartment buildings—not portable like tenant-based Section 8 vouchers.
• Only select properties are participating.
• Eligibility and application requirements will vary by property.

Call Center: Call the Section 8 Waitlist Call Center at (833) 791-2748, available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Holiday Closure Notice

Please note that Trinity Human Services will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

Our Food Pantry, Clothing Closet, and Social Services will be unavailable during this time and will resume on Tuesday, July 7.

Please plan ahead if you need assistance before the holiday weekend.
