North Brooklyn Cats

North Brooklyn Cats Volunteer-run cat rescue organization working to end local cat overpopulation and suffering. We are not a shelter. Our email is [email protected]

Our foster space is limited and therefore we can't always take in cat and kittens from the public, but will provide resources and contacts if possible.

SIGN THE PETITION: every NYC borough deserves access to affordable spay/neuter care. 🐾 → https://buff.ly/OqUhj7q

Right now, low-cost spay/neuter clinics in New York City have monthly-long waitlists — and whole neighborhoods, especially in the Bronx and Staten Island, don't have a nearby option at all. That gap doesn't just hurt pet owners on a budget — it means more unplanned litters, more animals ending up in an already overcrowded shelter system, and more strain on community cat caretakers doing TNR with no backup.

The City Council and Mayor Mamdani just took a real step forward by funding $750,000 for spay/neuter programs in the FY2027 budget. Now we need the Council to go further: one dedicated, high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic in every single borough — funded year after year.

This is one of the most effective, common-sense tools a city has to reduce shelter intake and give every New Yorker's companion animal — no matter their zip code — a fair shot at basic care.

Add your name and tell the Council to build clinics in all five boroughs: https://buff.ly/OqUhj7q
