This week's ONE FOR THE FUTURE honoree is someone who lets the material do the talking. Meet Yuxin Song β class of '26β'27. ππΌ
Based in Calgary, Yuxin is a Canadian-Chinese jewelry artist specializing in enamel whose practice treats making as a conversation between artist, material, and viewer. Her work explores how materials carry meaning β through their physical properties, cultural history, and technical processes β and how that meaning continues to shift and evolve once the work leaves her hands. For Yuxin, the audience holds as much authorship as she does.
Currently experimenting with raw stone and flexible chainmail-inspired enamel structures that move like fabric, her practice is always in motion. At its core, her work holds space for quiet reflection and healing β rooted in a recurring thread of learning to accept, grow, and love.
