ABATE meeting 8B and 8E August 6, 2026 called to order, pledge of allegiance was recited, moment of silence for our fallen brothers and sisters.
A reminder to everyone to please review your August monthly newsletter for the survey on page 16. ABATE is asking for your help on gathering information to bring to our legislators regarding the Right to Repair piece of legislation that they are interested in getting implemented in the state of Wisconsin.
It is coming up on elections soon, please take the time to review all candidates when it comes to issues. Dont be afraid to contact candidates and do your own research. One of the many benefits in our state is the ability to walk into our capital and talk with legislation. You are encouraged to exercise this right. As always there are many things that we as an organization look at and need to make sure they dont get swept under the rug. Right-to-repair, autonomous vehicles, fuel choices, etc. Even though this organization concentrates on motorcycle rights the issues effect so many more people. Voice your concerns and encourage others to join in on the fight to keep our rights.
Unfortunately we have been informed there will be no fall color ride this year. We have spoken with one of the organizers and offered to help if they would like to do it next year. We will keep you updated as time gets closer.
October 4th meet and greet Slimy Crud Run at Schellter Bar E7428 County Road C North Freedom Wisconsin. A very large thank you goes out to LeRoy and his staff for allowing us to set up an informational booth during the famous Slimy Crud Run. This event brings in thousands of riders. This event happens twice a year, spring and fall.
If you can think of any events that you believe an ABATE informational booth would be beneficial please let your regional representatives know.
Please take notice. The November ABATE meeting will be Sunday the 8th and the December meeting will be the 13th due to our Santa schedules. January will be the 12th due the New Year's weekend.

What a fantastic meeting/chili cook-off/ pool tournament we had March 1st at the Capital City Riders clubhouse. We greatly appreciate everything this motorcycle club does for the ABATE organization. To show our great appreciation for everything that they have done and continue to do a plaque of gratitude was presented to them on march 1st. It was the first time since the earlier 2000's that they have been recognized with an award such as this. We are extremely grateful for them opening there doors for our organization. Members from our local ABATE region 8B&8E, other regions and general public where in attendance. Congratulations to our 1st place Andy Moen, 2nd Jay Goecks and 3rd place Kate Ward winners in the chili cook-off. Congratulations to the 1st Todd Ward, 2nd Jay Goecks and 3rd place Juan Solis as the winners for our first pool tournament. Speaking of opening the doors, we will be hosting an accident scene management basic and advanced classes April 25th and 26th. Please reserve your spots ASAP. The classes fill up very fast. Even if you have taken the class before, there is nothing wrong with a refresher. Personally I try to attend a course every year. My theory is, if I am prepared properly for a bad situation, I will never have to use the skills I've learned. Let's be completely honest. You will never run across 2 exact same bad situations (everyone hopes they never encounter one in the first place), but with the proper training from these amazing instructors, you will feel confident that you are prepared rather than frantic and scared. Traumatic situations can become uncontrolled within seconds. With the hands-on training that you receive in these classes, you will learn many tools that can be used instinctively in a split second. These courses are motorcycle based. But that doesn't mean the training is only be used in motorcycle situations. The training can be fundamental with any accident situation whether it's an ATV/UTV, snowmobile, vehicle, job site, etc.. Nobody can predict if or when this training could become a life or death situation.
April 5th is Easter, meeting will be moved to April 12th at NV Corners. May 3rd will be a meet and greet at the Slimy Crud Run. June 7th will be located at NV Corners at 1pm. July meeting will be on the 12th due to the holiday weekend. August 2nd and September 6th will be at NV Corners at 1pm. October 4th will be a meet and greet at the Slimy Crud Run. November 1st will be at NV Corners at 1pm.
