Attention Madison Township Residents,
After years of planning and waiting, we are proud to announce that work on our new training facility is officially underway.
What originally began as a dream for our members to have a dedicated place to train has now become a reality. We know many members of our community have wondered what has taken so long. When we first received quotes from contractors in 2021, the estimated cost was more than $425,000. With inflation, that same project would cost approximately $1,000,000 in 2026.
The safety of our citizens and our members has always been our top priority. We believed this project was too important to abandon, so we began exploring ways to make it a reality while being responsible with taxpayer dollars. To significantly reduce costs, the members of the department volunteered to complete much of the work ourselves and source many of the materials. As a result, this approach is projected to save the taxpayers of Madison Township more than $750,000.
Many members of the community have asked what this project is and why it is taking so long to complete. Every firefighter working on this project is volunteering their time around full-time jobs, family commitments, and our ongoing responsibility to respond to fires, rescues, and medical emergencies throughout our community.
Once construction is complete, we plan to host an open house and invite the community to tour our training facility, fire station, and equipment.
The members of the Madison Township Fire Department are proud to serve and protect the citizens and neighbors of Madison Township. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we build a facility that will help us better prepare to serve our community for years to come.
