Meet Charleigh Campbell, Educator

Years at Prep: I am heading into my 6th year at Prep

Hometown: Coppell, TX

Education: I went to Baylor University for my Bachelor of Science degree in All Levels Special Education. After I graduated from Baylor, I worked at Camp Barnabas for the summer before I started my first year at Prep and my first semester of graduate school. A year and a half later, after completing their online program and working at Prep, I graduated from the University of Texas with a Master's Degree in Autism Intervention!

What Drew Me to Prep: Working at camp the summer after high school graduation showed me the Barnabas world and mission. I ended up applying to Prep (thanks to Sammy Mayoral for telling me to apply) without knowing what I would be getting myself into. A few weeks into the school year, I was telling all my friends and family back in Texas that I thought I had found the best place ever! No day is the same, and yet every day is exciting, challenging, and fun!

Something Fun: I enjoy reading most types of books, painting (check out the murals around Prep), thrifting/antiquing, and traveling!

Day Program Coordinator

Years at Prep: Going into 3rd year

Hometown: Dallas, Texas

Education and relevant experience: I have my Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology from Abilene Christian University. I have worked with people with special needs through various opportunities for seven years!

What drew me to Prep: God's calling on my life, prayer, and Google! I'm so thankful for God's direction and guidance.

Something fun: In 2025, I lived in Kenya for 2 months with one of my best friends, Grayson. We were ministry interns for an organization that helps children living on the streets turn their lives around and provide for themselves through a job. I love missions so much, and this experience was so eye-opening and cool!!

Education: Business Entrepreneurship degree from Baylor University, 2025

What Drew Me to Prep: I couldn't imagine anything sweeter than getting to do life with people I feel called to serve and watching them thrive in a community that challenges and celebrates them!

Something Fun: I once gave a lamb the Heimlich maneuver!

Meet Sammy Mayoral, Residential Advisor
Years at Prep: 7
Hometown: Allen, Texas
Education and relevant experience: 7 years of experience in disability ministry
What drew me to Prep: I initially chose to come to Prep because I knew I wanted to enter full-time ministry, and Prep offered a great opportunity to spend a year serving. After that first year, the Lord made it incredibly clear where He was calling me, and the door opened for me to stay on permanently.
Something fun: Outside of my work and ministry, I love playing golf.

Education: Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming, 2 years as a Fellow at Prep; 1 year as a Resident Life Coordinator at Prep, Starting 1st year as an Educator

What Drew Me to Prep: I love this place and deeply believe in the mission of Barnabas!

Something fun: I am married to my wonderful wife, Bree, who also worked at Prep for two years. We have a Goldendoodle named Daisy that you will definitely see running around campus!

Meet Elizabeth Buhr, Kitchen Manager

Hometown: Originally from Seward, Nebraska, but Branson has been home for 5 years

Relevant Experience: Four years of bakery management and multiple food services for camps and conferences.

What Drew Me to Prep: An opportunity to serve alongside fellow believers in a Christian ministry for God’s glory!

Something Fun: I am #6 of 13 children. Currently, when our family all gets together, there are 62 of us! I'm married to my very best friend, and I love calling Branson home!

Education: B.S. in Elementary Education (Minor: Early Childhood Education) from Southwest Baptist University; M.S. in Special Education Instructional Specialist from Arkansas State University

What Drew Me to Prep: Prayer! While praying about where God wanted me to serve, I reconnected with a former teacher friend who was leaving her position at Prep, and God opened the door for me to step right in.

Something Fun: I'm a big college sports fan, especially college basketball!

What Drew Me to Prep: Answered prayer! I prayed for the opportunity to serve in ministry and live in Branson, and God opened the door for me to transition to Barnabas Prep

Something Fun About Me: I've been skydiving and loved every second! I love the outdoors, being active, spending time with my friends and family, and I am always up for an adventure. I also get to lead fun barn dances at a beautiful wedding venue here in Branson called Sycamore Creek Family Ranch. I have a big heart for seeing people realize their identity in Christ and develop into all that God created them to be! ALSO!! I get to marry my best friend on so soon!
