"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." - Ephesians 2:8-10

We know salvation can’t be earned. It’s a gift. We are saved by grace through faith. But Scripture also makes one thing clear: real faith moves. Not because we’re required to prove something to God (thankfully — because we never could), but because when we truly believe in who He is, it transforms how we live.

Faith means trusting God enough to obey, love, serve and follow.

Real faith moves your feet. 🙌

PILLAR IN ACTION: STUDENT OF SCRIPTURE

This pillar is rooted in Joshua 1:8 - "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will achieve success."

The world tells students to follow their own path. At Link, we teach them to follow His. We help students understand not just what they believe, but why... because the best thing we can do is send them out with the Word of God as their compass!

PILLAR IN ACTION: BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW

The world tells us to go with whatever sounds good in the moment. But it's important to pause and ask: does this actually line up with what God says in Scripture?

Here's what Colossians 2:8 says: "See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ."

When it comes to our faith, God's vision of growth is measured in

💛 Love. 🙌 Joy. 🕊️ Peace. ⏳ Patience. 🤝 Kindness. 👍 Goodness. 🙏 Faithfulness. 🦋Gentleness. 😌Self-Control.

It's easy to practice these qualities when everything is going easy, but what about when the pressure is on?

As athletes we're training for something great... but as believers, we're being sanctified for something GREATER.

PILLAR IN ACTION: GROWING IN GRATEFULNESS

Gratefulness doesn't always come naturally, but it can grow! 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus."

The best way to grow in gratefulness is to remember how deeply God has blessed you and give God thanks. When you understand His goodness, gratitude and generosity flow!

✨ ALUM OF THE MONTH: ANNA ✨

This month, we're spotlighting former Link Year student AND Campus Shepherd from this past year, Anna! Here's what Libby, a fellow Shepherd, says about her:

"Anna embodies the Seven Pillars of Link Year by living her life seeking truth. She is dedicated to daily being in the Word. No matter if it’s 6:30am while working in the Link kitchen or after staying up late because her friend needs a shoulder to cry on, Anna consistently prioritizes her relationship with the Lord. Her answer to every one of life’s problems is 'go read your Bible and pray.' She loves others so well. No matter what the activity Anna is always willing to bring others along. She doesn’t want anyone to ever feel left out or overlooked; she brings people together. Anna asks the hard questions and calls you higher in love. She daily lays down her own wants and desires for the sake of others. She picks up the phone no matter the time of day and always has an encouraging word. It is so evident that the Spirit works through her. Anna is a faithful follower, friend, selfless servant, and student of Scripture."

There's nothing casual about this kind of moment. Watching students publicly declare their faith in Jesus through baptism has always been one of our favorite moments of Link Year. So thankful for what God is doing! 🙌
