Buffalo Gateway Chorus Chartered in 1964, the Buffalo Gateway Chorus is an award-winning Western New York-based nonprofit organization of 80 women singers.

Chapter of Sweet Adelines International, Inc.
4-part harmony, in the Barbershop style

Barbershop harmony is a style of unaccompanied vocal music characterized by consonant four-part chords for every melody note in a predominantly homophonic texture. The melody is consistently sung by the lead, with the tenor harmonizing above the melody, the bass singing the lowest harmonizing notes, and the baritone completing the chord.

What a weekend for the chorus! ❤️🖤

This past weekend at the Competition in Erie, PA, Buffalo Gateway accomplished exactly what we set out to do — we brought home the First Place Chorus medals with a record-breaking score of 692! 🎉

Not only is this the highest score in Buffalo Gateway history, it is also the highest chorus score ever received in a Region 17 competition!

And the excitement doesn’t stop there… we are officially headed to Seattle in 2027! ✈️🎶

We are beyond grateful to our incredible director, Di Porsch, and to all of our amazing coaches for their inspiration, dedication, talent, and belief in us every step of the way.

We are also so proud of our fabulous competing quartets:

✨ Silver Bells — winners of the Most Improved Quartet Award and Senior Quartet Champions!

Congratulations as well to Daybreak on their outstanding first-place quartet win and record-breaking score!
