Federal Action Alert!

Help Protect Youth Gender-Affirming Care!

The Department of Health and Human Services is considering implementing two new regulations that would effectively ban transgender and nonbinary youth from receiving transition-related healthcare.

Whenever the federal government wants to create, change, or repeal a regulation, there’s an open comment period for the public to submit their ideas.

You can submit your comment to the federal government to let them know that you want to protect gender-affirming care for trans and nonbinary youth. The Human Rights Campaign (Human Rights Campaign) has created a portal for you to submit your comments: https://act.hrc.org/page/183931/petition/

PFLAG of Greater Boston (Greater Boston PFLAG) has a wonderful toolkit to help you write an effective comment: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/63d7f7e157cd4e489418cc3a/t/6960597a9e7db27455fa62ec/

The government has to read every comment submitted. Public comments will be open until February 17, 2026.

Protect trans youth and their right to receive evidence-based gender-affirming care by submitting your comment!

Build Trans Futures with MTPC this !

Today on Tuesday, we are reminded that every act of generosity is also an act of imagination. It’s a chance to invest in the future we know is possible, a future shaped not by fear or scarcity, but by hope, shared power, and the leadership of trans people.

This year has made one truth unmistakable: the attacks on our communities are not new, and they are not inevitable. We are part of a long lineage of trans people and allies who refused to let others define our worth or limit our futures. That lineage includes you.

At MTPC, our commitment is simple: we resource the world we believe in.

A world where trans people don’t have to fight for the basics, food, safety, affirmation, access to healthcare, stable housing, and the freedom to live authentically.

A world where our community blooms, blossoms, and thrives.

Your contributions make this real. They fund free name change clinics across Massachusetts, provide direct financial assistance for housing support, medical care, food, and essential needs. They strengthen our advocacy, leadership development, and community empowerment work. They help us grow the programs that our community tells us they need most.

When you give to MTPC, you’re not just supporting a nonprofit;
you’re investing in trans futures, in possibilities that already live within our community, waiting to be resourced.

If you feel moved today, we invite you to make a donation, one-time or monthly, to power this vision forward. Monthly gifts, at any amount, help sustain the momentum our community is building and ensure we can meet the needs that arise all year long.

Head to this link:

If you’d like to make a donation via check, make it out to MTPC and mail it to:

PO Box 300124

Thank you for believing in this work, and in us.

Thank you for resourcing the future we are creating together, one rooted in joy, dignity, equity, and possibility.

Victory for Trans Equity in MA! An Act Protecting Personal Security Signed into Law!

This law removes the requirement for public notice of a legal name change and ensures all name change records be kept confidential. Governor Healey signed an end-of-year Fiscal Year 2025 supplemental budget that includes this amendment. With this signature, the new law takes effect immediately!

Once the new process for name changes has been updated and finalized we'll share an FAQ about the new law. We'll also be able to help you navigate the process at one of our upcoming name change clinics.

Previously, when people legally changed their name in MA, they were required to publish notice of the change in a local newspaper. Additionally, a public record of name changes was available for anyone who requested it from the court.

With the passage of this law, MA has repealed these requirements, reducing unnecessary costs and barriers for transgender people while also ensuring their privacy and safety!

Thank you to everybody who helped pass this law:
Senator Jo Comerford
Representative Lindsay Sabadosa
Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis
Senator Lydia Edwards
State Representative Michael Day
