Today, we are proud to spotlight our 2025-2026 Scholarship Program award recipients who are pursuing their nursing education in Cape Verde. These dedicated students represent the future of healthcare, and we are honored to support them on their journey to serve their communities.

Fabiane Resende Monteiro (pic 1) is originally from the island of Fogo in Cabo Verde and is a nursing student. She has always had a strong interest in the health field and, as a child, dreamed of becoming a pediatrician. In 2021, she began studying Biological Sciences at the University of Cabo Verde, an experience that contributed to her personal growth and self-discovery. After one year, she decided to redirect her path toward Nursing, a field in which she found a strong sense of identification and purpose. She believes that nursing is a way to demonstrate love, empathy, and a commitment to life, and that education is an opportunity to grow and contribute positively to her community.

Jodelma Raissa Costa Ferreira (pic 2) is originally from Monte Trigo, in Santo Antão, a fishing community. Her pursuit of Nursing is motivated by the goal of acquiring knowledge and skills that will allow her to provide healthcare with quality, humanity, and professionalism. She aspires to become a competent nurse who can contribute to the well-being of people and to the development of healthcare in her community.
