Service changes lives, and it starts with investing in the people and organizations making a difference every day.

We're grateful to Governor Maura Healey and the Massachusetts Legislature for their continued support of the Massachusetts Service Alliance through a $1.686 million FY27 funding.

As the Commonwealth's State Service Commission, MSA works to strengthen communities by expanding volunteerism and national service. This funding allows us to support AmeriCorps and Commonwealth Corps programs across Massachusetts, build the capacity of nonprofit organizations, connect more people with meaningful volunteer opportunities, and foster civic engagement in communities statewide.

Every act of service, whether it's mentoring a student, supporting disaster recovery, addressing food insecurity, conserving our natural resources, or helping a neighbor in need, creates a stronger Commonwealth. This funding helps make those acts of service possible.

Thank you for recognizing the power of service and investing in the people and programs that are creating lasting impact across Massachusetts.

Your next chapter of service starts here.

Answering the Call is where servant leaders pause, reflect, and decide whether running for office is their next act of service.

If you've served your community or country in the military, through AmeriCorps or Peace Corps, in public service, healthcare, education, nonprofits, or national security — and you've ever wondered what role you might play in revitalizing American democracy, this program is for you.
